After almost twenty years of being horribly ill, I start to see the contours of some normal life.
One of the changes, is that I begin to get attention from men, and slowly start to think of dating.
With my background, it is a little bit scary, but it is also an opportunity to reclaim this part of my life. One of the things that worry me, is when he hears of my diapers. I am just terrified to meet someone with more focus on what I wear, than who I am.
Luckily for me, I believe in marriage before sex, so it gives me some time to sort it out.
I have had a bad experience on this, as a friend of mine turned out to be weird when he got to know about my "underwear"
He did not do anything bad, but it was like being turned into an object for his dirty imagination, instead of being me.
Anyone with similar thoughts out there?

optimist,

I guess our planet harbors all kinds of folks, whether it needs them or not. Most of us see our incontinence as an obstacle to be overcome, not a come-on or a turn-on for weirdos. But it happens; denying it is no cure. As your health permits, seek out groups and associations, such as religious and charitable institutions, where you are more likely to meet like-minded folks. Good luck.

optimist, I'm so sorry that someone you trusted as a friend turned on you like that. Unfortunately, generally speaking, men are from Mars and women are from Venus, even in a friendship context. As to dating, one advantage you have is that your moral standards are aligned with the social challenges of wearing protection. The subject of your underwear won't even come up unless and until you know he's the one.

Optimist,

I am dissapointed in hearing of your experience. I agree that there are all kinds of people out there. The hope in that statement is that there are some good ones out there too! Keep up the hope and the search. You will find one that likes you for you not what you wear. Good luck.
