I have been diagnosed with Neurogenic bladder. Some days I am perfectly dry and others not so much. Is this normal with this type of bladder. Does anyone else experience this type of wetting? I have tried to take note of when I have accidents, but there seems to be no pattern to it. |

batman, I too have a neurogenic bladder. It caused intense pain, and was threatening to destroy my kidneys. The situation was resolved with a sphincterotomy in August, 1999, at the cost of continual leakage for the rest of my life. But the pain is gone, so I could not be happier. The unpredictability of a neurogenic bladder is probably caused by intermittently pinched spinal nerves. Good luck getting this resolved. |

What caused your neurogenic bladder, Batman? I have this condition caused by MS but, after a very long time it has given up on voiding so I have to do intermittent caths 4 or 5 time daily |

I had a mini stroke several years ago and after that my bladder started going south. At first, I would go to the bathroom think I was done and on the way out, I would wet my underwear Luckily I had long shirt tails which would help cover up the leak. It has gradually gotten worse to now I am lucky to get to the bathroom when I feel the urge to go. Meds seem to help but I continue to have accidents. I have learn to continue go on a time schedule. Sometimes this time schedule is interrupted either by travel or by my work environment. (meetings where I am the presenter) |

batman, Your description of your situation makes wearing protection of some sort necessary, even when you do not seem to need it. Neurogenic problems can be so unpredictable, making the fear of not knowing almost worse than an accident. If you must function as a meeting presenter at work, reliable protection becomes an absolute necessity. Good luck. |
