All,

I am incontinent and wear 24/7. Recently I ordered a case of Molicare Super Plus diapers from JDCSupplies. The company has good prices for Molicare products and a good business reputation.

The company's policy statement says "We take your privacy seriously, which is why all of our incontinence supplies are shipped in unmarked boxes directly to your doorstep."

Imaging my surprise when my large box of diapers arrived clearly marked "Molicare Super Plus" in very large letters!! This is not acceptable. As I frequently travel, my neighbors often have to pick up my mail and packages and are not aware of my incontinence. Fortunately I was home this time.

I contacted the company to formally complain. The company acknowledged their privacy policy and that the box, which was shipped from the manufacturer, should have been unmarked. They noted that a mistake had occurred.

I have asked to be notified about what specific steps they take to insure that this error will not be repeated. Meanwhile, potential customers might be cautious regarding orders from JDCSupplies for incontinence supplies

I have to tell you .. sooner or later .. no matter what you do .. your situation will become known. So acceptance becomes necesssary. IF your neighbors should 'find out' while you are away .. PRACTICE UNTIL YOU HAVE-IT-DOWN-PAT .. to say quietly with no pause .. "Oh great .. Thanksl .. I get these for a friend or a relative or (you choose) who needs these but is too embarassed so I get them for (him/her)" .. Best Wishes .. Tewi

Thanks for your comments, Tewi. Yes, I am fully accepting of my situation as it is medical and there is nothing I can do about it.

Actually, I think I manage my bowel incontinence rather well. However, I do not wish needlessly to advertise it.

Frankly, if someone asks me a direct question I have decided to answer them truthfully, while providing as little information as possible. Unfortunately, the irrational stigma which so many people attach to those of us who must wear adult diapers and are incontinent is a little worse for those of us with bowel incontinence.

I often recall my parents' admonishment to me as a teenager, "Remember, life is not always fair." So true.
