I had planned to simply write a review of XP Medical's Absorbency Plus L3 diaper, which has been around for a little while now, but then I found out that there's a second version: the A+ Level 4. The description seems to indicate that this is equivalent to the Dry24/7 diaper that has been on backorder for sooo long. That's okay by me. I'll try anything once, but there is such a thing as a diaper that's impractically absorbent. http://www.xpmedical.com/absorbency_plus.html So, I've tried the Level 3 A+, which I like, though they're not without fault. They're absorbent, and they're a really good value, but the tapes are hard to use, and once they're stuck, that's it. There's certainly no moving them. Anyone else had any experience with the new A+? -RMS |

I got a case of the level 4 last Saturday and I've been using them exclusively since. My primary diaper has been the M4 for years and Dry 24/7 when you could get them, but I think the level 4 may be my new go to diaper. Here's my thoughts on the Level 4. -Amazing absorbance. I typically go through 4-5 M4s in a given day, the Level 4 have been 3-4 per day. I've yet to have a leak. -The amount of padding in the front wings is a plus. I have side leak issues when sitting and the extra padding has been very helpful. -The plastic very much reminds me of what Dry 24/7 had. It's smooth, tough and not too loud. -I wish it had double tapes. They are very strong and will tear the backing if moved, so you really need to get the positing right. I haven't had a tape failure yet. -No leak guards, but that doesn't bother me. No leaks, and they've been outperforming any premium diaper I've used. -It's just a comfortable diaper in general. It stays together with minimal clumping and it's very dry. -Sizing wise it's very similar to an M4, just a little smaller fit. My overall impression is that the Level 4 is a Dry 24/7 clone. Which I think is great. |

I'd be more eager to try the Level 4 diapers if it weren't for the tapes and the noise. If you don't think these things are noisy, Nothing, I don't know what diapers you've been using. Even the Dry 24/7s weren't that loud. I always wear snug-fitting underwear over my diapers, which always helps, but there is just no silencing these. Usually, once the diaper warms up to body temp, things quiet down nicely. Not these babies. Did I mention that I think these are loud? Now, about the tapes. That could be a deal-breaker for me. I think it's great that they stick as well as they do, but there are a few reasons I have problems with them: 1) The "grab tab" part of the tape is way too small. I have fat fingers, I'll grant you, but I have had a heck of a time opening the tapes. 2) Yes, they stick like crazy but, to your point, there is no going back once they're in place. Once stuck, that's where they're going to stay. 3) Because of #2, above, you destroy the diaper when you remove the tapes. This means that the tapes are now useless, since they have plastic on them, and I can't roll the used diaper up into a tidy ball as I normally do. I don't know how normal this is, but I tend to want my discarded pull-ups and diapers to be neatly tucked. This is important to me, for some reason. The Absorbency Plus diapers make this difficult. In fact, just this morning, I actually went and found some Scotch tape so that I could do this to a Level 3. Yes, I'm weird. -RMS |

I can't agree that you're weird, RMS. IMHO, rolling up/packaging soiled disposables, be it a diaper, pull-up, bed pad or even a sanitary napkin, is simply a matter of common courtesy to those with whom we share a household or public restroom. Wetters |
