When ever I go to a med supply store and ask for diapers they often only have xl and I am a medium. It is as if they never consider somebody with a waist under 44 might need a diaper.

Not everyone is in the position to order online, as they may not have the Credit card, or Paypal etc, or they live with others that do not know of their issue and that is why they buy local, they do not need a huge box arriving at the house, and have it come when they are not there to accept it, and next thing ya know...   heard of that happening to others, I live by myself, and have ordered online before, but it is just easier to get my "brand" on sale when that are and keep a good supply on hand so I do not get caught short. I have just found it the easiest way to get what I need, close by, and all the local stores know me now, so not much shock when I buy adult diapers at age 44, never had a look from a teller yet, it would be the last one they had the chance to give someone in my medical position... When I ask for a brand or size they always ask questions. I have always said it was for my grandfather.

It is certainly something that is NOT an easy item to buy, I at first used to travel 45 minutes to the next city to get mine, then after I settled into the fact they did what I needed, and it was most likely not going to get any better, did I start to buy in town. That can be challenging as well, as I have lived in the place for 35+ years, and know way too many people, never been spotted, or run into anyone when I do go out and restock the supply cupboard, I am sure I could come up with something, but feel there is really no need to explain anything to anyone. Of course they do not assume at a younger age they are for yourself, but it happens in life, you just have to go with what you are handed the best you can. The poeple around me do not know I have plumbling leaks, but know I have seen several docs and specialists, and undergone all the tests they do, so is wouldn't be too shocking to them I am sure, but I am not about to indulge any of them about it all... Welcome to the forum, Justin. I see you have already made several post since you have joined. As the members before me have noted, online sites have the best selection of diapers out there. You can review many of the post to see what best might work for you. I personally use XP Medical. They have a comparrison chart of what they sell that is very usefull to make your best selection plus the cost per diaper. Again, welcome to the forum! .......Paul Martin

I've not purchased anything from a medical supply store in several years, but I still see the delivery trucks of two well known companies driving all over town so I know the local medical supply companies in my area must be doing pretty well.

I would "think" you could order any diaper size you need as long as you purchased one of the brands that store sold. I still see the medical supply store delivery trucks in town from time to time. I would think the home delivery oxygen tanks is by far the most populare item they deliver, but cases of incon products is most likely the second most popular item they deliver only because of the weight and size of each case. I'm sure little old ladies would rather have the large boxes (cases) of diapers delivered to their front door compared to picking these boxes up at a store some place and then struggling with them to fit in the car. The more cases your picking up at one time the greater the struggle. Home delivery solves this problem. it only makes sense that anyone which to puchase adult diapers in the correct size could do so and have them deliveried, or flaged for pick up at store once the store receives shippment from supplier. I recall pricing diapers at a medical supply company before,.....not cheap. They are able to sell these and other items for top dollar because it is easier to order everything you need from one company so if you needed to replace oxygen bottles it was just as easy to oder 3, or 4 cases of adult diapers from the same company.

I maybe wrong, but I kinda have the feeling that many people in their 70's, and 80's don't use computers like those of us in a younger generation. I'm pretty certain most of these medical supply company's sell to nuring homes besides selling to the general public and provide a much needed service by making home delivery to the products they sell. I have to think most, if not all of their incon products are pre-sold from each delivery they receive from their supplyer. As such, there is probably very little selection of products available at the store since most of the incon products are pre-sold every week.

I would be surprised if many medical supply store stores carried more than two brands of diapers,......Depends, and Attends. Because of cost, I'm sure most nursing homes use one of thes brands. So if you want to buy "quality" such as Abena, or some other quality brand diaper your probably not going to be able to buy it from a medical supply store anyway.

Some people don't have, or use a major credit card such as Visa, or Mastercard for many different reason. For those people still using their 8 track player from years gone by, I'm sure a good many of them are not computer are most likely not computer savvy, let alone computer security conscious to the use of a pre-paid Visa, or Mastercard. For this group of people doing business without the use of the Internet is probably the safest way. They may never know there are better incon products on the market compared to what they've been using, and they may nerve know they can pay less for the same products their currently using by price shopping the Internet and finding good companies such as XP Medical, and many others. So,.....even if all of these people do use computers,...buying products off the Internet is not always safest way to make the purchase even though they can buy a better quality product at a very reasonable price with deivery to their fron door.

Anyone with some computer skills and experience can always get a pre-paid credit card and do some product price shopping. Asking for recommendation as to where to buy quality products at a reasonalble price is something the members of this forum provides to people all the time. For this group of people I would recommend you obtain a pre-paid credit card and use some common sense when providing credit card information over the interent. If you stay with those companies that are recommended by several members of this forum, I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you find a deal that seems to good to be true it probable is so just say with those companies that come highly recommended by member of this fourm and I don't see how you can go wrong as long as you use some common sense.

There is one last place that you can try that might have some quality products at GREAT prices. Check Craigslist in your local area. GoodWill as has a online store that sells some good quality items at reasonable prices. It's been a while, but I bought a case of Attends for like $6, but the shipping was close to $20, so the total was $26 for a case of Attends (not the best quality, but they work ok for the time I spend around the house) delivered to my door. If you buy anything from the GoodWill, or eBay, check the shipping cost BEFORE you make bid to purchase the item. One nice thing about Craigslist is there is no shipping,....you argee on a price a drive over to that person's home, or designated meeting place and exchange cash for the item(s) purchased.

Hope this helps.

I usually order, but if I run out unexpectedly and need to go to a store then comes the annoyance of them not having my size. They will always order what I ask for. When I have a bad Ibs flare up what looked like a lot of diapers runs out fast.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here. If you don't have a bank card and your roommates don't know about your condition and they're the type to go opening a box that came in not addressed to them you probably need to seriously reassess your life.

Maybe if you go to the local medical supply store they can order the style or close to the style you like
