Eventually it does happen.

For my morning exercise walk I decided to put an Abena Abri-form X-Plus diaper through the same test to which I previously had submitted the new Wellness Superio Signature diaper. The Wellness performed very well.

The excellent Abena Abri-form L3 has been my main diaper for daily use and my preferred diaper when out in a social context when I really want good protection. I am bowel incontinent usually have bowel accidents when on morning walks of a mile and more.

I have worn the Abena Abri-form on my exercise walks in the past and suffered only minor leaks. However, I had not submitted it to the same stresses to which I recently put the Wellness, i.e. deliberately sitting down quickly, leaning, etc. I decided to run the Abena through the same test, expecting the Abena to perform well. Please note that you and I normally would not submit a diaper to this much abuse.

I walked 1 1/2 miles in a messy diaper to return home, sitting on park benches en route (the same as I did 19 times for the new Wellness diaper (which never leaked). Once home I discovered much to my surprise not a leak, but that a sizable quantity of stool had spilled out of the diaper into the plastic pants and even out of the plastic pants and down my leg, soiling my trousers and socks! What a mess to clean up. I did not expect that with the Abena.

As I previously said, the Abena is an excellent diaper and I shall continue to wear it. I guess we just had a bad hair day.

The last few times I wore Abena diapers the material fell apart real quickly and I leaked down my leg. Does Abenas still do that or have they corrected it?

DiaperDan,

I have had no difficulties with Abenas falling apart. I continue to use my remaining stock of Abena Abri-form X-Plus and also the Abena Delta-form. As I use both of those for my morning exercise walks they receive a fair amount of stress. Either Abena has corrected a problem or you may have received a bad batch of diapers.

Best wishes,
