Call Me Tim said it would be nice to have other options to wearing diapers. I'm sure others feel the same way. There are many who feel a condom cath should be the primary option for males, rather than diapers. There has been occasional mention of catheters, both indwelling (Foley) and condom caths in our Forum. One of our contributors here (Lyle) is a long time successful user of a condom cath.
I'd like to steer anyone interested, to our discussion of catheters that you may not have noticed. On our Home Page, the menu items on the left start off with "Home" and next is "Understanding". Click on "Understanding" and a sub menu drops down and the third item is "Catheters".
Tho it was written a dozen years ago, it is a decent "primer" for anyone wondering about trying a condom cath. I imagine there may be improvements, possibly in the adhesive used for the stick on condom caths. And maybe there are newer "things" you will find when visiting a site for condom caths. The pricing to get into it is surely outdated.
One innovative thing came up a number of years ago, as I recall, and I don't know if it is still around. I think it was called something along the line of "Daisy" as it was a stick-on thing, with petals....like a flower....and the petals stuck to just the head of the penis, minimizing skin disruption, as compared to a full roll on condom. So the drainage tubing started right at the tip of the penis. I felt at the time it was probably intended for hospital and nursing home use where skin break down is a serious issue. And the patients probably had reduced sensitivity so as to not mind something stuck onto the head of the penis. In any case, I knew I would not want to try it!
The McQuire urinal is mentioned and if you are interested, you need do a search to see if they are still available.
