Hi to all on here, haven't been on for a while but would like to provide an update on my incontinence.

well still got a urinary catheter here it is a SPC but also got a condition which many guys will know called prostatitus, sorry about the spelling can never get it right :?

well the prostatitus has been causing no ends of problems for me since i was first diagnosed and is one reason why i still need to use nappies or diapers due to that it give me bad spasms and causes bad bypassing of urine for days on end.

sadly my surgeons were unable to remove the prostate so am basically stuck with the condition and stuck with wearing diapers when the condition flares up.

on my last catheter change it gave me another flare up, that was only a few weeks ago and talk about a rough time but with support i will get through, go no choice.

as for the diapers, still use cloth as disposables cause very bad skin problems and think i saw some others on here who get the same problems, at least they are comfortable.

any way that is a quick update on things here.

Hey Mike... sorry to hear of your woes, I also deal with the prostate issue, have for many years, it is now termed as chronic non-bacterial prostatitis, so I can totally relate to that, not fun to suffer with. There are a few herbal options out there to try and get it to settle down a bit, saw pametto is one (http://www.jamiesonvitamins.com/2415), along with Bromelain. I had somewhat of a good session when I used them, but not a cure. Hang in there, you are not alone dealing with this one! Puffy

many thanks for the reply, just wondering if yours started as bacterial like mine which is very nasty and i too am now classed as chronic prostatitus.

i did tell my surgeon about the wetting bouts and sadly they couldn't remove due to high risks, now had this since Nov 2010 so still very early days here as it can go on for many years.

did think it was settling down till a few weeks ago and hey presto had another bout.

was once asked why i need to use diapers when i have a urinary catheter in and basically i am bypassing from the bottom of the bladder which can be small to large amounts and when you times that many times a day then you end up very wet.

have tried different stuff for the condition but am very sensitive so just take antibiotics and pain relief until things return to normal what ever normal is

Hi Mike, not too sure exactly what set mine in motion, but I did have a nasty little infection a ways back that required an operation, Epydidiectomy, to remove the epydidymus off the L testicle, who exactly knows... That made a huge difference in my quality of life, before it was taken out, I could not work due to the pain, now it just gets a bit sore every week or two, but tolerable compared to previously! All in all, I can deal with the issues I am left with day to day, thankfully! Puffy

Hi Mike,
I was just wondering why they couldn't remove the prostate? Mine was removed because of cancer. I had the Da Vinci operation. If your Urologist can't get it out find another one, preferably one with a University would be preferred.
