So it's all happened to us...but it's something you just can't get use to and it feels just as awful each time it happens! I was shopping and got stuck in a long line I had pulled myself out of the wheel chair and was leaning against the counter to slide my debt card. I'd been having problems with retention and the moment I'm standing up in front of a bunch if people, my bladder resided it was a good time to empty. My bladder was destended so even the very absorbent diaper I was wearing was not enough. I leaked big time. There was a puddle on the floor and my shorts were soaked. That's embarassing enough, but there is more! The diaper had absorbed so much urine that it got very saggy. Because it was sagging, stool ended up falling out of the diaper and down my leg. I was a total mess. Some people were trying not to look. Some kids were laughing and others had looks of pity on their faces. I got in the car and cried the whole way home! Ugh! I hate having this problem. I should have self cathed before I left the house!!!!

I totally understand how you feel. I had my bladder drain what looked like a gallon on the floor of a mall in the food court one day. That was the first time in public I had an accident. It was the most embarrassing thing I have ever encountered. It was horrid. Adults were looking at me in shame. Children were pointing and laughing. A janitor walked up to me and told me I needed to wear a diaper if I couldn't control myself. That night I almost committed suicide. It was the lowest point I had ever descended to in my life.

Hopefully things will not happen like this again.

Doug

So sorry to hear this. It helps to talk about these embarrasing momments with others who understand. I have had enough of them Myself. These days I don't get out often. And I need a homecare nurse & or My family to help Me with everything. I'm obviously disabled and in a wheelchair so its all in My seat under My tights and dress if theres any leaks nobody would notice usually. Still there are times. The most recent visit to one of My DRs was highly embarassing. As I was wheeled into the exam room. And My nurse , The Drs office nurse & the Dr himself all helped transfer Me to the exam table. My diaper was already soaked when My bowel erupted quite abundantly into My diaper. As My nurse pulled My dress up and tights off. It became clear to everybody in the room what had happend. My nurse thankfully asked to have some time alone to clean Me up before the dr came back in. I felt like crying . But everybody was very professional. We all got through it. Hope Your doing well.
