You said it best that "probably no one is looking", but I totally get that paranoia. I'm still trying to be discreet about my protective attire.

I totally understand that!

Dear Craig UK:
I seem to be in group with Socialogygeek, I have found that the Pull ups or underwear has very good absorbancy it isn't always in right place. I have found that I do a little better with XL even though I have used Large for a long time. What is happening lately is I find my pants wet badly in public, my pull up is dry because I "miss it"
The latest I have tried are called "Live Anew" and they are very well made but really don't solve the problem for me. I have always had good success with Seni products and there pull ups are great but still same problem.
So when I really want to be safe outside house, I have been using Abena 3 tape on diapers.they are not plastic backed but work better for me during the day. (they are thin enough and very quiet) I use Abena 4 plastic backed at night with cloth over it and plastic pants. (helps when sleeping on side)
Another somewhat helpful item I have had a degree of success with is a cloth pant by
Abena I think they are maybe called fixing pants, not the cheap thin ones but they are heavy about $14 from XP Medical and if I use a size that are not too loose they help keep the "pull up" up higher and they do a better job for me, they provide about zero absorbancy but keep the pull up in proper place most of the time.

Thanks TomT for your thoughts. I'm best described as at the stage behind - considering moving from guards to pullups rather than pullups to tape briefs. a few guards per day works but my choice of underwear is very important to make that work. cotton boxerbriefs don't work as they get loose during the day, even ones with a bit of spandex/lycra don't work as well as briefs. Tighty whitie classic briefs work ok but don't fit that tight, so those skimpier briefs that don't have a fly or low-rise briefs that do have a fly are the only things that work at the moment with a guard. So I'm thinking I could switch to pullups all day and maybe wear 2 pairs over the duration rather than 3 guards. Unless someone else knows the magic formula of what underwear that works best with guards? A tape diaper isn't a necessity for me (right now) so that's off the table for the moment.

CraigUK:
I've had a lot of luck using a premium pull-up (Abena Abri-Flex, Molicare Mobile) with a guard pad. Over that I'll add a granny panty or a light compression brief to keep everything in place. When the guard pad gets soaked it's easy to just remove it or replace it with another pad. At some point you can just forgo the pads and simple use the fairly substantial padding in the pull-up itself. I've used this combination very successfully when on trips where space for protection products is at a premium.
