Not to mention I did use folleys quite extensively. Until I developed a severe sensitivity to having anything in my urethra.

After doing a little research online, I found this is quite common for long term 24/7 catheter users. It seems it's not a matter of if it happens, but when. If you've been able to use them for years, then you're lucky- so far....

Using the Duette two Balloon Foley helped me a lot. I didn't know I had it on!! It was so flexible I could tie it in a knot!!

At my last appointment, my urologist suggested the possibility of surgery to "make a cut" in my prostate to allow my bladder to empty more completely. He also talked about the retrograde ejaculation and the possibility of making 3 cuts. This seems very much like what you are describing here? Or maybe it is similar, but in a different location? I go back to see the Nurse Practitioner next week and will ask for more info, but any help any of you can give would be appreciated.

Your description reads as though your urologist may be contemplating a sphincterotomy. If so, I would interrogate him closely. This may work for you, but you need to understand it completely. Good luck and report back.
