to me the printed ones seem less medical for when someone is overwelmed with the medical things going on in ones life

This is a really good thread with good conversation. Good points here. With the help of other members from my previous thread, I tried two of the printed brands. One of them have been the best I’ve worn yet out of everything I’ve tried. Like many here, I have some very serious health conditions. I’m frequently in the hospital/ER/doctors office of some specialist. My body is tired and worn. I have scars in my arm from all the times I’ve had my blood drawn. Due to my issues, I have worn plain white diapers for 10 years. I feel like enough of a professional patient. So the prints have, as Papa said it, put a smile on my face. Only because it is something different. Wearing a printed diaper does not make you less of a person. Would I wear them to one of my medical appointments? No. Nobody knows what I’m wearing except my wife. And she doesn’t care. She told me like many of you, if it works, go with it! I don’t feel bad about it. I wear Abena to the doctor. Overall, I’m glad I tried the brand I did. It has prints, but it works and fits well. I feel better protected. I’m dry at night and nobody is going to see it. So who cares? It works for me and that’s all that matters, not what it looks like.

I just reread Papa's post and I'm really liking it, especially the part about getting a laugh or putting a smile on your face. Hey, it's bad enough that we HAVE to wear diapers, if the print makes it even just a little bit easier, and nobody else will be the wiser, all at the cost of just a few buck, or in this case cheaper, why not!

One day... The diaper companies will read a thread like this and a light will go off and they will say, "If people are buying diapers in cute prints and want something other than the nursing home look or hospital look or the 'old' person look... eureka ! Maybe they would like normal looking prints or stripes, etc. like they used to have on their former underwear!!!" The first one to do so will make a killing. Who here would stick with the look we have now with choices beyond teddy bears and blocks and such? And do we need wetness indicators?? Really??? I think we know when our diapers are wet. One day maybe... soon I hope. Papa

I was thinking exactly the same thing and if the diaper was good quality I'd be the first in line to purchase them. As it is now the only non-childish adult diaper (a pull-up actually) is made by Tena. It has simple vertical stripes and colored waistband and does look a lot like mens regular underwear. Unfortunately like most basic pull-ups it doesn't have a lot of capacity, pretty much one and done.

Well, I my crinklz came in today. Papa was right. They gave me a chuckle and it was nice having something different. Kind of wish I had taken better advantage of the sale, but at least I learned wearing a printed diaper won’t kill me. And my wife thought it was cute...

Tarlton, Cute is good but it is probably the first time she saw you in a diaper that didn't make you look like a resident at a nursing home. How can these diaper companies be so dense not to see a HUGE need for an adult diaper that A. Works and is comfortable and B. Has some semblance of style? If not prints then stripes or colors or anything beyond institutional, hospital and nursing home look. I wear cloth diapers as much as possible, for the first years everything was White White White. Buying, and oh my god, wearing colored plastic pants was taboo. Now anything goes, why are we so stubborn? Papa

It appears that I am not the only one who dislikes sterile medical white diapers.

I would prefer something cheerful and colorful. However, in contrast to what currently is available in printed diapers, I will cast my vote for diapers with colorful adult prints - perhaps abstract art, bright paint splotches, or, if you like cars, Lamborghinis and Ferraris.

Hi All

I recently converted to Crinklz as I was so fed up and depressed with looking at myself in the mirror wearing a medical non descript diaper. The Crinklz at least looks a bit normal as plenty of regular underwear has character prints. I have found the Crinklz to be a better diaper too. I do so wish Molicare had stuck with their coloured lilac diaper rather than changing it to medical white.

So glad I am not alone in my thoughts.

How 'bout sports themes? I like the abstract art idea also. And maybe some solid colors that don't look so "institutional?" I have a pack of the black Rearz that I use for "dressing up," so to speak. I don't worry so much about it showing if my shirt comes untucked, as the black tends to blend in better with dress pants.
