LtsofQues,
That's a good ideal you have about using the cloth pads at home. You're on the right track, now. Schoppy has a link for the chair size underpad. That's a really good price, too.
I find those type pads work great in my car/truck. Lots of times I'll have a flood and my diaper will tend to leak and the pad keeps the seat dry.
Sandy has the ideal I use at night. For my occasional leaks at night, I throw a waterproof bed pad under the sheet. ......Paul Martin

Sandy, I know from your posts that you use cloth diapers. I found a website called snap-ez which has cloth pullups with snaps on the sides for changing easier. What do you think of them? Also cloth use will require a diaper pail. What do you think of this idea? Getting a small plastic regular garbage can with a lid and putting it on one of those wheeled platforms for large plants (I already have one) so that it can be wheeled from the bathroom to a closet in case someone is coming over. Also, putting some vinegar and or baking soda in the water may take out odors. Some other clothing that had gotten wet still had an odor and washing again in vinegar took it out. Baking soda absobs odors in the refridgerater so it may help this too. I found some chair pads in different colors on a site for support hose and shoes which may work for the car and furniture.

I've heard of those but have not really looked into them at all. I like the Velcro the best easy on easy off. Maybe I'm nit picking a little but with Velcro there's no lining up the snaps. Anyway as far as having a wheeled platform why? That sounds a little extreme I use a five gal. bucket with about 1-1/2 gal. water and a little shot of bleach and it seems to work OK. I drain the water in the toilet before I dump it in the washer. But I also wash my cloth diapers every 36 to 48 hours ...............Sandy

I was thinking of the wheeled platform in case of having to hide it in a closet quickly. I never thought of a five gallon bucket, that seems like a better soultion. What sites have pullups with velcro? Do you also use cloth for work or only at home?

Hey,

I've been using the snap ez diapers for about a year. I think they are great, I have not had any problems the snaps.

Thanks Tony. How long does it take to get the shipment once you order? Also, do you use an insert with these? How discreet are they under clothing? Do you wear them to work or just home? How absorbent are they and do they have a tendency to leak?

Snap ez 4 life is incredible fast at filling orders, great customer service. They make 2 different styles, AIO and Pocket Diaper. I use the insert for the AIO and for the pocket diaper I use 2 Kins Prefold Diapers. The pocket diapers are great for me as I already owned the prefolds I just got tiered of diaper pins. The AIO are alittle easier to deal with.

As far as them showing under clothing I wear my pants loose fitting and they are fine. Most of the time I do not wear them to work as it is more convienent to throw away a disposible diaper when it is dirty.

I almost always wear plastic pants over any type of diaper its just habit mainly. But you wouldn't have to as long as you don't wait to long to change

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

Tony

It is amazing how much you can save by using cloth. (after the initial cost). My disposable use is cut in half. It may take awhile to build up a reasonable amount of cloth supplies to get to that point. but the money you save is well worth it. Start with night time use absorbency and then work your way down.
Take care.
