After JD's last post I decided to order a pair of the diaper suspenders, receiving same yesterday. Unfortunately these were too small.

I'm not a regular suspender wearer, so I ordered the standard size, thinking there would be enough adjustment; they do have another option that is 6" longer, I'll have to give that a try.

Hugh,

Bummer. I hope you will be able to return the small pair of suspenders.

JD, I was able to get the suspenders replaced.

Wearing a cloth diaper and plastic pants, I put on a pair of cotton briefs and clipped the suspenders the the cotton brief. Worked great, holding everything in place.

I'm probably going to reserve the cloth diaper/suspenders combination for around the house more than out and about. Seems even with larges jeans I don't like the bulk that shows.

Hugh,

It is early morning and while I drink my morning coffee I am still wearing my overnight cloth diaper held up by my diaper suspenders clipped to a pair of stretchy underpants. :D This is the coolest combination I have found for warm nights and mornings.

I'm glad the suspenders are working out for you. Congratulations for taking the chance and experimenting. Please let us know any tricks for wearing that you find.

Re the bulk of cloth diapers when wearing jeans, I have to agree. However, yesterday while I was wearing a night-weight diaper with a booster, my wife unexpectedly suggested that we go out for dinner. I pulled on my jeans and out the door we went. Admittedly, I did look like I had a fat bottom, but lots of guys have fat bottoms. But, it did not look like I was wearing a diaper. Nonetheless, I normally would not plan to leave the house while wearing a night-weight diaper. However, a day-weight cloth diaper is very concealable under jeans and quite comfortable.

I have had to pay attention to which shirts I wear with diaper suspenders. The lines of the suspenders can show through thin fabrics. If I am wearing an undershirt or onesie under a buttoned shirt, no one can see the lines from the suspenders. So, the diaper suspenders are not the solution in all instances, but I like having the additional options.

I too wear cloth diapers out under my jeans and find no real problem with bulk. I could say that after 12 years of doing so I just don't care, but I do, we all do. The one advantage of wearing cloth diapers is - the bulk you start with never changes. With disposable diapers the bulk grows as you wet your diaper. More than I care for that growing bulk has caused me concern because I am unaware of it until I see my self in a mirror or window reflection. I know I am self conscience (as we all are) and over estimate how much it shows but it is part of what we mentally deal with. Papa

Papa,

Excellent point about the bulk of cloth diapers not changing. That makes selecting the right pair of jeans much easier.

I agree with wearing relaxed fit jeans. I never wear cloth so I can't comment regarding that, but I got to work one day about two months ago and misjudged how much I had already voided. I had an episode which resulted in wet jeans, so I changed the brief I had on and headed for the nearest WalMart. They had what I think was called a working cut- perfect for my job- and it was cheap. I purchased a 38, though I usually wear a 36; this allows me to throw them in the dryer after laundering them and not wait for them to air dry. I now have a new look and no one is aware of what is under it.

Yesterday I went out to dinner again while wearing relaxed jeans (one size larger than my normal fit) over a cloth diaper. This time the cloth diaper was day-weight and without a booster. The fit under a pair of jeans was pretty good. Only someone who knew me well would have noticed. After dinner I asked my wife whether she had noticed what kind of diaper I had on and she had not noticed. If she had not, no one would have noticed. :D

Normally I wear jeans in size 34/34, however after struggling with too tight jeans when having to wear a diaper underneath, I went up one size to a size 36/34, and now I'm all good, the bulk in front of my jeans is not as obvious as it was before before, and I also have room in the back so the outline of my diaper doesn't show as much - well at least not until I'm really wet, then I may have a slight diaperbutt, but no one ever said anything to me.

Still wondering though what the women on my workplace thinks of my butt - I believe women looks just as much on men's butts, that we men look at woman's butts......

I have been using relaxed fit pants for years.
Having been incontinent all of my life, I learned all thee tricks.
I think the biggest trick is not to worry. My bought me some onesies years ago as she was often checking to make sure my plastic pants were not sticking out of my waist band. They are a huge help in addition to holding up wet and soggy diapers.

I have hardly ever had anyone even notice I was diapered. People are to busy with other things. I have only had one person comment. I am pretty sure he is a AB/DL.
