its a pain in the butt.. but it is nice sometimes to not have to worry about using the restroom when you have a brief on that can handle multiple wettings.. diaper rash is the WORST! Rash alone makes me want to get out of diapers and back into normal undies..never mind the convinence factor of wearing diapers..i want no skin issues!!

My thoughts about what happens makes me more unhappy than what "happens".

I am incontinent (bladder only); I've accepted it, finally; I'm dealing with it successfully; I'm grateful for the wonderful support I am receiving on this website, though new to it. Much more comfortable with incontinence, especially after acknowledging it.

I am a new member here so I am just learning the ropes. My incon is primarily due to abuse when I was a teen and got worse after surgery a few years ago. It is a constant reminder of those traumas and aggravates abuse-induced PTSD. Incontinence is a pain-in-the-brain but I keep chugging on!

I appreciate the tone of this forum and hope to become an active member of the community.

The first thing that comes to mind is why me what have I done to deserve this. As of this moment I still have a sence of shame and embarrassment at being incontinent. In the broad scale I could have a lot worse though!

Welcome, Fran.

Let me add to my post above. My urinary incontinence is caused by a sphincterotomy. My bowel incontinence is caused by gastroparesis (paralyzed stomach). The stomach paralysis causes me to vomit, usually in my sleep. I waken with a smelly mess on my pillowcase. However, if there is enough in my stomach when I vomit, it can clog my airway; the only way to resume breathing is to rely on the residual air in my lungs to cough it out. When that paralysis affects my colon, I get a painful blockage, and everything behind the blockage is diarrhea. It seeps past the blockage and can overwhelm my diaper. When I cannot breathe, I panic. When diarrhea overwhelms my diaper, I get exasperated. My feelings about incontinence do not bear to be spoken, or written, in polite company.
