Re: Sleeping, diapers, and clothes

Just going to throw this out there. You don't have to use cloth and plastic pants. Look for Pocket Diapers or AIO diapers. We have used cloth pocket diapers and All In Ones for all three of our boys over the years to include my current 2 month old. At the same time, I also found someone who makes me my own personal pocket diapers. Pocket diapers mix the best of cloth with a disposable like diaper. You use inserts and slide them in the pocket. The inside of the outer layer has PUL that acts as your barrier. The cloth against your skin can be super soft then and you can make it as thick or thin as you need. Plus...no pins! All mine use plastic snaps but some I've seen use velcro. Plus when it comes to washing them, it's super easy. Because they are individual inserts they fall out in the washer and get clean and then they dry quickly because they are not one super thick diaper.

I think all of will agree that waking up in a wet bed is no fun! My wife feels the same way too. =)
Having worn diapers all of my life, I am a big believer in cloth diapers and plastic pants. When at home I wear 3 cloth diapers from Adult Cloth Diapers and Comco plastic pants. Because wet diapers tend to sag, at my wife's recommendation I started wearing snap crotch onesies. These really help keep things in place and when I first get into bed my wife does not have that cold feeling if she gets close to me from the plastic pants. Additionally, because I sometimes have problems with my hands, my wife has to diaper me and the snaps really help. She will use Comco snap on plastic pants too.

When traveling I wear AbriForm Pluse with a cloth diaper pinned over it in case of a leakage.

I hear a lot of talk about the best plastic pants. In my 63 years I have lots of experience with a huge variety. I think I have tried them all. As a kid when I got to big for baby sized plastics, my parents bought from Kleinerts. When they stopped making them, i started buying all kinds of different brands. I settled on Comco from comcomfg.com for several reasons. I have never had a leakage. They are inexpensive and they are very long lasting.

Good luck with your journey

Terry
