First of all gurs i have been pretty busy and havnt realy contributed to this board since i joined around 6 months ago whic i am sorry about. A lot has happened in that 6 months! I have now moved from Canada back to my home country of England. So as you can imagine i have been pretty busy.
What i was going to ask is i have been invited to go on a 2 week skiing trip to France in December/January but am a little worried how i would deal with my incontinence. We would be driving down so its a pretty long journey. All the friends i am travelling with know about me needing nappies/diapers so thats not a problem. My main concerns were i know they probabley sound silly but they are worrying me,
1. Worried abput nappy/diaper leaking in the car/not being able to find a place to change.
2. All 5 of us will be sharing a studio place so a little worried about privacey re diapers/nappies i shouldnt be worried because they all know and dont think anythig of it!!!
3. As i have never skied before/will prob be falling over loads i imagine, will this put too much stress on the nappy? as i will prob be falling on my butt!
It would be great if anyone could give me some advice as i am pretty worried about going. Part of my mind doesnt want to go and the other half is telling me to go because it will e a great time!
Sprry for the long post

Maxi, traveling is ALWAYS a concern. Since you have been dealing with diapers/nappies for some time you are aware of what you face. I have found that wearing two disposable diapers together comes in handy. It may be a long trip but your friends are going to have to stop to use restrooms along the way. If you have soaked the first diaper just go in and (takes a little dexterity) remove the inner diaper (do not tape it on just insert it inside the outer one). this gives you a fresh diaper and off you go. As far as being in a common room where you are staying there will be a bathroom that supplies privacy for changing so that should be easy enough, As far as sking - the diapers will have less stress than you will being a new skier ! Good luck
Papa

Hello Max, it has been many years since I have skiied, and didn't have the incon to worry about back then, and yes, I fell PLENTY that first day. After a few hours it does get easier. I could go now except my back would be the one to give me the most problem, the incon I could deal with while skiing. It sounds like you have a great group of supportive friends, and that will help you in doing what you need to at stops and in the condo. Wear what works for you in your everyday activities, but add a liner or as Papa said, a second diaper inside the first, along with a good waterproof pant, and you should be fine. Be sure to post upon your return from it all and tell us how it went, and how sore your butt got! Puffy

maximus,
I wouldn't wear two diapers, I don't think you need to. I would just wear a good quality extended wear diaper like the Molicare Super Plus or Abena XPlus. Something with good quality. I haven't worn the Molicare in a couple years but they are really good. I wear the Abena Xplus quite frequently and I get approx. 3-4 good wettings out of it before I have to change. As long as you remain standing, it will hold up for about 6 hours. Some people claim 8 hours but I pee alot, so I don't get that many. I know it will hold up to at least 3 - 4 wettings before becoming saturated. And the diaper is very high quality. You could wear some plastic pants over it, or not, its up to you.
