Bulk is what makes a diaper absorbant or not. The best disposable diapers are bulky. Cloth diapers are bulky. The big difference is that a good disposable diaper is full of SAPs and they absorb and turn the wetness into a gel and barely wick at all. The absorbtion of the wetting causes the SAPs to swell and causes even more bulk. So what fitted well under your shorts/pants now is more obvious. Cloth totaly whicks and gets no bulkier as it gets wetter. Even though some disposable diapers say they last 10-12 hours it is definately not good to wear a wet diaper that long - of anykind. There are trade-offs and personal life styles that make us all different and different diapers work better for each of those styles. If it works for you then it is the right diaper. We all adjust to our own needs. Papa
