So I just talked to someone at xp and they have recalled the xl. They were having issues with the plastic which she said would explain the tapes ripping. I was told to check back in a month.

So after wearing a few of these I can honestly say they are...ok.
Fit is definitely low-rise compared to other premium diapers.
There is a large SAP/fluff ratio so they take a flood well but don't seem to wick much toward the rear, at least as a male. Sitting while voiding I noticed the wetness heads mostly to the front panel of the diaper rather than predominantly into the center pad in the crotch. The padding in the wings is not very substantial compared to Northshore's Supreme and Lite diapers and feels wet to the skin.
The taping system is actually very good, I prefer sticky tapes to velcro but this is a pretty good compromise. Being able to untape as needed without risking tears/adhesive loss is pretty nice.
My experience so far may be a bit skewed because I clearly need an XL to get the navel level rise which I need for a good fit. I am going to try some Abena XL boosters in the next few to see if it improves wicking and more padding being utilized.
Looking forward to realworldinc's performance review.

thank's for your confidence! Testing is completed and we are working on the video this week, certainly interesting testing I will say, Speaking with the Manufacturer there are a few changes for the product coming down eventually, this was the first production run, and they expected some needed modifications for future runs. One is the issue with the backing on XL turns out the backing was out of spec.. there are a few other changes that will be likely that we will share in the video.

There is a lot that's good about the diaper as is. I would want more substantial padding in the wings and maybe 15% more in the crotch area. Assuming the XL is a good fit sizing isn't a personal concern, I feel the large is on the smaller side of average on the market.
They are comfortable, the plastic is thick enough but very quiet. I haven't worn one to capacity yet but I expect it to get soggy long before max capacity. I could easily use them during the daytime, fairly trim for what they are.

my new wish list on any brief includes that the top sheet that is part of the leak guards and also on all the wings be of a similar water proof material.
in otherwords you could not get any press out leaks from the wing area. center padding is fine after all is saturated that would be expected.
.
the original Megamax had that feature , that means any leaks would come from either an overloaded center area or from the top of the brief. but not just cause where was moisture in the wing padding.

I also have a wish list for better top Sheets on products Although it should not be 100% hydrophobic like the leak guards as it needs to allow fluid pass... I think the Dry 24/7 still has the best top sheet so far (IMOP) And I will say that the ABDL branded products tend to have poorer top sheets That's a generalization but seems to be a good trend I have seen.
