So.... I have been more or less frustrated by attempts to reach the toilet before the floodgates open. I sometimes like make it to the bathroom and about to get pants down then mr bladder just decides to open then and there. I don't hate myself too much for it and beat myself up a lot but It doesn't help much when I am trying to save on diaper expenses and such.

Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Many times. Some months, that is my "normal".

You have my every sympathy I have been there so many times wearing diapers helps me a lot manage this part of my urge Incontinence if I reach the loo I use my diaper rather than have a wet floor and clothing.

Because of my sphincterotomy, my leakage is more of a slow, steady dribble; however, when I drink too much too quickly, this will happen to me, and it is exasperating. Live and learn and clean up the bathroom.

Be lucky your urge incontinence isn't the other way around with leaking. I used to get an urge, but couldn't go to save my life thanks to my sphincters automatically clamping down too tight. Unfortunately this meant that my urges just got more painful. It got to the point where I couldn't move or think about anything other than trying to pee even a little. Ultimately I learned how to push and strain hard enough to empty my bladder. Unfortunately this also meant I caused a lot of secondary effects which were slowly killing me.

Thankfully I finally got a urologist that believed me in what was going on, and was willing to do something other than push more pills. After SIX urinary sphincterotomies I am nearly to a point I don't have to strain at all (though I do have to keep pushing half of the time). I have one more surgery planned in February 2017, which will hopefully get me to where I won't have to even think about peeing anymore.

So the next time you get an urge and leak a little, don't think of it a something to be hated, think of it as something to be thankful for.
