Aw man, I've been there so many times I feel your pain with something like 20-30 surgeries in the past 20 years (I lost count). You have my sympathies.
And fyi, flying within a week or two after a major surgery is very frowned upon. Especially for anything from the waist down. Half because you will be seated for too long which restricts blood circulation, and the other half because of the cabin air humidity and low pressure which wreaks havoc on your body to begin with.
If you can wait at least one week after your surgery before flying, I would highly recommend you wait (really a month or longer is better- trust me, I know from experience).
