Hello,
I was originally on here, as Kakapo, but recently had my notepad computer hacked, so was locked out of it, hence I bought a new laptop computer and changed my email address. Hence I have just re-registered here, under the name of Aurora Borealis, so hope to regain my confidence, pertaining to all things computer wise, as I am now petrified of the thing.
I know I shouldn't let this deter me in anyway, but my confidence is low and I have had to pluck up the courage to turn the computer on, and navigate my way here, to type this.
I will have to take things slowly and get used to the computer all over again, as I am scared that something like this could happen again. I wondered if anyone else has had this happen to them, and how did they cope with getting back to some sort of confidence, pertaining to computers. I am now frightened to turn the thing on, which I know is silly, as at the end of the day, it is only a machine.
I think it will take me some time to truly feel comfortable about using computers again. In the meantime, I will try and take it one step at a time and just ease my way, back into things.
It's nice to be back here, among friends.
Aurora Borealis.

Welcome back.

Do you have anyone that can help you with computers? You shouldn't have needed to get a new email, and certainly didn't have to buy a new computer. If you have general tech questions, I could try to help you a bit.

Hello MSU Spartan.

Thank you! No, I don't have anyone to help me. I still can't unlock my litltle notepad computer and I changed my email address, after i was computer hacked. I had been experiencing problems with the notepad computer, prior to this and it was very slow to start up and shut down.
Many of the keys were sticking and it used to do some strange and peculiar things; like telling me, that certain friends and family didn't have an account with Yahoo or G Mail and saying that their email addresses were incorrect-- when I knew they were not.
I don't think these problems were down to me, I don't know enough about computers nor have the technology to understand them.
I basically just use them, to check emails, and write my poetry. Perhaps I need to take a beginners course in computing, but haven't found courses in my local area.
Anyway, things are going okay at the moment and I am taking it one day at a time.

Sounds to me like your system was likely gunked up with a lot of malware.

Like a vehicle, most computers require regular maintenance if you want them to keep running long term.
