For those of you who work out, what style of diaper or pullup do you wear to the gym? I usually wear some basketball style gym shorts, a t-shirt, and an Abena extra diaper underneath. The diaper makes noise under my gym shorts but nobody can hear it in the gym. I know some of you would say to wear a pull up but I have occasional fecal incon issues so a diaper is a must for me. Its really not that big a deal to just wear a full on diaper. Nobody can tell underneath my gym shorts. I fold the top down so it is level with my shorts in case my shirt rides up while doing streches and lat pull downs and such. The Extra is really comfortable and I don't really sweat in the air conditioned gym so thats not a problem. I just like to be protected just in case the worst should happen. Does anybody else wear a diaper to the gym or does everyone wear pullups because you can conceal those better?

Hi Don,
Yes, pull ons seem to rule with most but I have to agree with you and I also need the security of a "real" (tape on) diaper.
You said you wear a tee shirt so why not try a white cotton one piece underwear? Looks exactly like a cotton tee shirt and no one can tell it goes down and snaps in your crotch. It guarantees no peeks of the diaper waist band at the rear and that is a big factor with all the moving you do while working out.
The other issue is the peek up the shorts legs such as when you are lying on your back doing sit ups or leg lifts....the diaper can be seen up the legs of the shorts. I'd recommend compression shorts.....lots of people wear them and they even wear them with the white compression pants legs coming well below the outer shorts. The compression on the diaper will also be a big boost in concealing the bulk.
If you go the compression pants route, you may not need the one piece underwear approach as the compression pants are fairly high waisted and the waist should be well above the diaper and if it stays there while working out, you are home free....great concealment for waist peeks and up shorts peeks while you get as active as you want to in your work out with out advertising the fact you are wearing a diaper.

Joe,
Good idea on the concealer. I have 5 Abena concealers that I wear especially in the winter time. I don't wear it in the summer because its too hot in Florida. At the gym I wear some basketball style gym shorts. You can hear the diaper noise underneath the shorts but its not that big of a deal because the gym is noisy and no one notices. So I'm not worried about that. I'm more concerned with being comfortable.
My gym attendance is currently on hold because of my physical therapy on my knee. They said no running or vigorous activity until my leg is sorted out.

Abena makes some of the best disposable adult nappy products in the world, even superior to many of the best products made in Europe by Attends, Depend, Harmann, Seni and Tena. Abena is the very best you can buy in my opinion, and they are available in retail stores everywhere in Europe. There are no adult nappies made in America that compare to anything made in Europe, all nappies made for sale in America are the worst of the worst, thin, no leak-guards, cheaply made, inferior quality, low-grade blue-strip nappies are USA junk, not even close to premium European adult nappies. I'm so happy I agreed to move to Germany with my boyfriend, now I can buy any Abena product I want locally; nappies, pads, underwear,
Wholesale Gymnastics Leotardss the pharmacy is only half a block from our flat and well stocked with all the best European nappy brands, it is so much cheaper than importing them from Internet mail order when I lived in America.

My attire at the gym consists of an Abena diaper under my gym shorts and a long t-shirt.

I wear dry 24/7's under my shorts with underware over the top, this helps to muffle the crinkle to the point you really can't tell I am wearing.

I wear my regular diaper and do my walking around the lake behind my house. Right now I don't use the gym, but I will definitely have to get some compression shorts for when I do. What about for swimming, as my doctor recommended it since it is low impact? What kind of diaper would you wear for that?

Diapers made for use in the water are primarily for fecal containment.

Porkchop,
For swimming, I recommend the SoSecure swim diaper, a.k.a. "fecal containment system." It is reusable and highly effective.

This is what I would use for protracted and vigorous swimming.
For disposable swim diapers, try swimsters or Swimmates. For light duty these are fine. They are designed not to come apart in the water. They resemble plastic pants. You buy them by the package, just like regular diapers.
All of the above will fit nicely under most swim suits.
As Patrick mentioned, swim diapers are designed and intended for fecal containment.

JD, thanks for that information..... as I do not have to endure fecal incontinence does that mean I can get away without a diaper? I am envisioning some special dye turning blue and everyone knowing if some leaks out!
