New Pull Up by Abena

Mon Apr 18, 2011 7:06 am

I have just learned about a new pull up.....unlike all the other pull ups out there. All the pull ups, usually called "underwear" are brief like and have a narrow crotch. The elastic waist holds them up pretty well when dry but as you wet them, the weight slung between your thighs tends to cause them to sag down and leak and be downright uncomfortable.

Abena's Abriflex is similar to all the others but now they've come up with the Abriflex Special which is a break thru (in my opinion) in that they look like, and wear like, boxer briefs. The short legs grip your thighs and help hold the pull up in place even as you wet it and it gets heavier. And with the narrow crotch gone, so are leaks....even under activity such as running / jogging.

Gary Evans hosts a fine incon site featuring Abena but offering many other choices in diapers: <xpmedical.com>

He can get these new pull ups from Abena, but only in a four case minimum order and he needs to sell them in case lots. If you are interested in trying this new pull up, let Gary know <mail@xpmedical.com> and when four or eight have signed up for a case, he will get them in.

I believe the cost is around $140 for a case of 120 medium pull ups. And I feel that is in the ball park for pricing of a premium pull up...around $1.25 to 1.30 per diaper.

I think I might give these a go at some point. Sounds like just what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a good pullup that I can wear to the gym underneath my gym shorts. But I only want one or two packages at a time. I don't want to spend $140 on a case of pullups. Maybe if he gets to carry them as an inventory item that is normally stocked and he offers them by the package I will try them. But that may be a while.

I too would prefer to buy a bag to see if they are right for me before buying a case. Or maybe split a case with someone in my area.

Abriflex Special "boxer brief" pull up

Hi folks,

I first need to correct my guessses on packaging....these new pull ups are packed only 108 to the case and cost is $140 to $142 (see the Abena Store site at www.kckmedical.com) so they are pricey at $1.32 per diaper.

I would think a manufacturer introducing a totally new product like this would make it available in small packs first.....knowing that people need to try a diaper for fit and performance before they commit to the cost of a whole case!

When you Google the Abriflex Special, Amazon comes up in many hits but they don't have any and they add they don't know when or if they will be back in stock.

I would think as this pull up gains acceptance it will be worth while for Abena to start packaging in other lots than just cases. Or perhaps a site such as XPMedical will break open a case and offer bags for sale.
