Good plastic pants in the UK? ~ Can't find any anywhere!

Tue Jul 13, 2010 11:47 am

I am trying to find some good plastic pants, preferably one of those recommended in the primer. But I just can't find any UK or European supplier who supplies them. I don't mind buying from the US, but the problem is that the postage costs make the price unreasonable.

I'm looking for a good pair of pants for nightime use over cloth diapers. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Cheers

Try Drylife....Google it to find a firm for incon products in the UK.

Another, I think, may be Bullen....perhaps a chemist chain. I'll try to get better info, it will take a bit of research.

I know the Drylife plastic pants were good quality when I tried them years ago, soft plastic and good leg and waist bands cushioned for comfort.

I went with USA and Canadian pants because, like you, the overseas shipping costs were prohibitive.

Also try a general search on Google or your favorite search engine; plastic pants and look for URLs that end in dotUK which will indicate a UK based company.

Thanks. I have done a thorough Google search, the problem is that the UK shops tend to sell cheap, bad quality plastic pants and have very little range to choose from. This is unlike the US sites that have a large range and are supplied by good manufacturers. It’s also very hard to find out what manufacturers the UK sites buy from, as the sites themselves don’t tell you, and there are very few UK review sites/forums. Hence, you don't know the quality until you buy them, and more often than not it's bad.

I have looked at the DryLife pants, but they seem rather dull I was hoping for something with a bit of colour.

Many thanks :D

I don't know how these fair..

Good plastic pants in the UK

The Bullen I mentioned is Bullens in Liverpool and they do have a web site: home-n-dry.co.uk but the plastic pants appear to be just like the DryLife pants....serviceable and comfortable and "dull" as you say!

A bit of colour, you say....well, you can't beat Suprima for color! Can you get Suprima pants? Made in Germany, perhaps the surface shipment from there to the UK would not be cost prohibitive. And maybe contact Suprima to see if they might have a dealer in the UK.....good luck!

I have been using the ones from Drylife but am about to order from Bullens (aka Home and Dry). I gather they will make to your own size which could be helpful though I have found the standard size to be fine in the past.

My present pairs have been going for quite a while as the material is quite think and I would expect a year out of a pair which isn't too bad.

Many thanks. I will have a look at Bullens, and see what the costs are like to order Suprima pants from Germany.

I have had exactly the same problem so thankfully someone included some good links here. Unlike Samuel12 I have never seen plastic pants to buy in any retail outlet. I have used the pants from freedomhealthcare before but each time they rent at the sides and so I will not purchase again. I like the Suprima idea so I'll check that out but for the moment as I really need some urgently I am off to Drylife.
