Abena fixing pants with diapers?

Thu Feb 15, 2018 12:51 am

Hey all.

I was looking at the abena fixing pants and it says that they are to be used with pads. Can they be used with diapers too? I'm looking for an alternative to spandex. I was thinking of getting some to wear on top of my diaper and pul pants. Would that be too much?

Thanks!

I have some but I have only used them with the pads that said an Abena level-11 abri-san pad is basically a diaper without tapes and is held in place with the fixation pants instead. I usuallu just wear tight boxer briefs which is my normal underwear when my bladder isn't giving me problems over my PUL pants and diapers when my issues require them and it keeps the bulk down pretty well

I have used Abena fixing pants over premium disposables for several years. They hold up very well to washing. I have several pairs of them and have not had to replace one. I wear the fixing pants over the disposable and under plastic pants. I have noticed that the fixing pants do pick up a little moisture form the occasional pin hole in a disposable's plastic backing or around legs. Overall it has been a very reliable combination.

Thanks. I asked someone at northshore if their mesh pants could be used with disposables and he said no. So I'll look into getting some abenas.

I've used 'fixing' pants (net or mesh-like) for some time. Worn over the disposable and under plastic or rubber pants. I agree with quotation from Steve M., above. It works well.
Another option would be to use lycra or spandex shorts (bicycle shorts). Net-type fixing pants have the advantage, though: They are easy to wash out and they dry quickly.

I've used the mesh pants and have not been impressed. I have the cotton ones and absolutely love them. Two pair have lasted three years at this point. I always use them over my diapers. They are really helpful for keeping cloth backed diapers in place, even after tape failures.

Where do you get cotton ones? Spandex just seems too hot.

Here's a suggestion that has worked for me, but be forewarned, it may not be everyones "cup of tea"....
Try pantyhose in an extra large size with most of the legs cut off. If you get a large enough size like the "Just My Size" in 3x or 4x there's just the right amount of holding power without crushing your diaper to the point that it will hinder it's ability to absorb liquid. They kind of act like a super light weight compression pant and in my opinion are much better than the Abena Fixing Pants. In addition they really aren't all that hot, even here in sunny Florida, since the material is so thin. There's also an added bonus of them keeping the upper most part of your thighs from rubbing together which really helps reduce irritation in that area.
I know, I know, women's pantyhose!? :o But when you get over the stigma and think about it it's just another item to help manage incontinence, kinda like well, a diaper or plastic pants! As I said, maybe it's not for everyone, but it is another thing to try if other forms of diaper support aren't working for you.

I concur, they are good with nappies. I wear Abena pants ( Super pants) with my Molicare nappies all the time and they keep everything in place.

definitive thinking outside the proverbial box, padded. Your right there is that stigma to a guy wearing pantyhose even though you cut the legs off. off incontinence subject, I was told by a friend up north that pantyhose was another laying of clothing you could put on which hugged the skin to help keep warm along with a motorcycle rider saying the same thing. They said it allowed them to easily put another layer of cloths on to keep warm. I guess with the legs cut off as you said it is not that warm.

Luckily for now I am able to I am able to get by with the next size underwear which holds my diaper till I have to change.
