What does anyone else call their pads/all-in-ones/diapers/nappies (call them what you will)? if you have a pet name or knick-name for them? (As you can guess, my wife comes up with a few of these....)

Interesting question....
I call all of my incontinence items exactly what they are, diapers, pads, pull-ups, etc. however my Wife calls everything related to my incontinence simply "supplies". I think it may be that she thinks that if she calls them by their real names it will embarrass me. I've told her it won't but she still calls them "supplies". I guess it might also be that it makes her feel "better" about me. One way or the other she is very supportive and understanding so in the end whatever she calls my diapers is fine with me.

I call them diapers or pull ups. I think of them just as my regular underwear. I do not let a name bother me.

Like Padded53, it is what it is. I make no attempt to use euphemisms such as "absorbent products." A diaper is a diaper. Pullups are pull-ups.

However, products such as AIO's are a specific subset of diapers and have their own name.
I feel that an important part of coping effectively with incontinence is fully accepting it. If you still cannot call a diaper a "diaper," then you still may be partially in denial.

My wife, who is supportive, may refer to supplies in general but calls a diaper a "diaper."

Interestingly, my wife and family always use euphemisms, such as, "protective garments," or "protective underwear." In deference to them, I use those terms also. When I have casually referred to my diapers in conversation, they are visibly uncomfortable. However, they are not embarrassed to see my diapers drying outside on the wash lines in good weather.

Oddly, in the beginning, when my incontinence was only going to be for three to six months due to cancer surgery, we both called them diapers. I also had, as discussed in another thread, no problem putting my diapers on in front of her. Talk and even kidding or light teasing was no problem. When the incontinence continued to the point where it was growing obvious that my need for diapers was not going to end, my world/attitude did a 180. I hated the word diaper, changing my diapers around her was no longer an acceptable procedure, she was not different, I was. Anger and embarrassment grew and grew. She picked up on it and toned down acting like it was the way life hits us. It took years to finally get most, not all, of the casual acceptance back. I still hate seeing her watch me changing my diapers. We are back to calling a spade a spade. They are diapers, no other word really fits but still at times they are "Whites, things, stuff..." No matter how long you have been in diapers it still can grind down your self esteem. Papa

I just call them what they are: diapers, pads, pull-ups, etc.

Thank you everyone!
While I am usually a "matter-of-fact" type of person, I just wondered....
.... re "them things" - yes I get that, as my short-term memory has always been pants. My mother would call out everyone;s name (and probably still does!) until she got the one she wanted!
My wife initially came up with the name Whopee because she likes the way it sounded... lol
But in seriousness, she's more cracked than me sometimes
