Gary sold XP Medical

Mon Jan 30, 2017 6:30 pm

Hey all,
Just thought I'd share the rather surprising new that Gary has sold XP Medical. The agent I spoke to assured me that Gary wouldn't sell to just anyone and tha they would do their best to continue the awesome customer service and top notch products XP Medical was built upon. Incidentally the reason I found this out is because I received the wrong size diapers and that puts me in a bind because I only have 3 confidry left. I ordered the seni the night before I left go my trip because I realized that I would run out of diapers. But I'll be ok.

I too could tell something changed. I ordered a months worth of Abena "abri-flex" pull-ups and the came in a marked box that said Abena and adult briefs all over it. I called them and talked to a lady working out of Texas who assured me it wasn't normal and apologized. It's a good thing I'm over being embarrassed about my incon.

Don, The same thing happen to me also a few months ago. As I told the lady at least Abena is not a well known diaper in the US. Even though I get my supplies through the VA, there was a delay with one shipment and I just spent the money so I would have plenty on hand. Besides the VA never covers up the brand name or what it is. Like you, at first I was embarrassed about it, but then I realized the UPS driver really doesn't care. They might complain about the weight, but at the end of the day they get paid to deliver packages and the quicker they do it the better they look to the company. They don't have time to analyze the package too closely.

Yup, I heard from a few other sites that this happened around the first of the year. Gary is no longer associated with xpmedical.

The new owners (whoever they are) had few "hiccups" when transitioning over, but appear to have since smoothed things back out. It looks like they are trying to be as good as Gary was, but have had to go through a learning curve of their own. I have also hear they have said they intend to keep everything running much like Gary had as well, but have added a few diaper brands and updated the web site (which is good in my book).

I'm disappointed to hear that Gary sold XP Medical, as they have been my reliable, economical source for disposables ever since I became incontinent. Gary built up a great business because he understood the needs of incontinent people, given that he, himself, is incontinent. Hopefully, the new owners will get the bugs worked out quickly and be able to deliver the same outstanding customer service Gary had delivered for years.

The website still says "for users by users" so maybe he sold it to another incontinent person?

I saw on their website that they are out of TX now... I know that they had a warehouse somewhere else other than Ca. that they were shipping from under Gary.. I hope that they get a warehouse closer to me because before it would take 7-10 days to ship to me with free ground shipping..

They suck now. I think I'm done with them

No more same day shipping, or at least they drastically moved up the cutoff time. I ordered a case of Abena L4 on Thursday at 3pm EST. When Gary was there, the diapers would ship that day and I'd have received them by today, Saturday.

Now, I never even got a shipment notification but when I logged in there was a tracking link...EST delivery date is Feb 22. That's 6 days rather than 2.

Too bad, Gary built such a great company and whoever bought it clearly doesn't give half as many shits about it as Gary did. I guess I'll just start buying them on Amazon prime from now on.

Business transitions often cause turbulence. In the past, someone from XP has monitored this forum. Hopefully, they are hearing and addressing complaints. Personally, I still use XP because they carry the Abri Man Formula 2 guard, which I have found works well for me. These guards hold as much as a pullup, and are easier to change.

My last order came from a warehouse in AR. Took too long to get to my left coast house, IMO. I am thinking about ordering from Amazon next time .
