Welcome Mia, there is a vast knowledge on this site and it is a good place to come and vent/learn. Here is a paper that also gives a lot of information.

Sorry I didn't give much information, I've been bladder and bowel incontinent since I was very small. This was due to some medical complications I had and because of the nerve and muscle damaged during the time I was sick. I use diapers 24/7 to deal with this and for the most part they work, I use abena m4's. I also have an unusual amount of accidents, can have 3-4 bowel accidents in a day..... It's very unpredictable. I also have bowel accidents in the night which I don't wake up for which complicates mornings, I have to change as soon as I get up early to avoid things like rashes or infections.
I'm now in college and dealing with it best I can, if anybody has questions or advice I'm happy to answer and hopefully I'll get a few back during the time I spend here.

Hi Mia! I am so glad that you have joined us. :D

Everyone, I know Mia from another forum and recommended to her that she join us here for more specific advice and discussions about incontinence. Despite her severe fecal incontinence, Mia lives a very active life as a young person in college. She has shown great personal strength in coping with her incontinence. I am sure that she will inspire us by her example.

Thanks a lot for that introduction, you give me too much credit, like most people I have my bad days, but I'm glad I'm able to power through it and be as independent as I can. Again thank's for the introduction....

Add my welcome to those above.

At the risk of seeming to be sexist, most of our active members here are male. However, incontinence has no such concern for genders; everybody is at risk. As a double incontinent myself, I welcome all of the advice I can get from other double incontinents. We do have a place dedicated to females; however, I look forward to your participation in as many of our discussions as you can.

Again, welcome, and good luck with your studies.

Thanks :p
I'm actually a little surprised that there aren't many females who come for support here or anyone for that matter. I myself have never met anyone who is incontinent at my age. Online I have, but even then very few. That's sort of makes it feel a little lonely, but as you said male or female when dealing with incontinence there are always things which overlap in any problem. I hope I learn subverting here and I hope I can give something back :D

Mia,

Very impressive of you not to give into to this and let it hold you back. From what JD has said it sounds like you are taking life by the horns and steering it where you want to go vice having life steer it for you. Once again welcome.

Howdy Mia

Welcome to our little family here. :D
Feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
Remember, you are not alone. All of us have the same thing in common here, portable bathrooms

What is your major at college?
