Vegas trip

Fri Jan 06, 2017 10:05 pm

My wife wants to go to Vegas this year. A couple of questions if anybody knows. Can backpacks be carried in casinos without being search? Are there public bathrooms on the main strip? Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

I went to Las Vegas several years ago. Because my inner ear disease was acting up, I was pretty much limited to using a wheelchair. Nobody questioned the gym/diaper bag I carried along, and I found the handicapped/family restrooms clean, thoughtfully laid out, and conveniently placed. Good luck and report back when you can.

I've been to a couple of casinos (not in vegas though). Both times they did search my diaper bag, and both times they didn't care or bat an eye. It was pretty much like everywhere else with security, so don't be afraid of bringing in what you need.

When we went to Disney last year bag checks were manditory, I do not think casinos check bags but just incase keep each diaper in a large ziplock bag. This way if a bag search happens the ziplock bsg will give the diaper extra protection from nicks or cuts from any rings the security guard may be wearing and will help keep the diaper clean.

Disney security never removed the diapers form the bags they just squeezed each one to make sure there was nothing consealed inside.

Have fun on your trip.

Robert, Thanks for the idea of putting my items in a ziplock bag. Not only does the bag protect the diaper and booster, it also allowed me to compress out as much air as possible before sealing it up. No one every asked to search my bag and no one batted an eye about me using a private bathroom to do my business at the airport or the casinos.

The trip went very well until the last night we were there. I came down with a bad stomach bug and became very sick. So sick I had to go to an urgent care. Although I try to keep my diaper hidden under a t-shirt, I didn't wear one this time. I was lying down in the bed at urgent care, my wife took it upon herself to pull my shirt down to cover up the top of my diaper. Although she knows about me having to wear one, she is still were I was a few years ago about hiding it. I just told her, these are doctors and nurses who have seen a lot and will not bat an eye about a diaper. Well the doctor order an IV and a shot. The shot had to be placed in my buttocks muscle. I really didn't even have the strength to slide my pants down enough for the shot so my wife and the nurse start helping. At that point in time I didn't care and later on it bought more meaning to doctors and nurses don't care and realize there is a reason you are wearing what you are wearing.

They say many heavy gamblers wear diapers to the casino so they don't have to take bathroom breaks, so diapers must be quite common over there.
Honestly though, I think it is more embarrasing to be such a heavy gambler than to be incontinent. I someone noticed my diaper in a casino I would preffer that he assumed it is for a medical condition.

Luckily I listen to my body before it got too bad and told my wife just trying to drink Pedialyte and Gatorade would not help.

I have heard the same thing about heavy gamblers wearing a diaper to continue gambling. Either they are very addicted to it or that is one long poker game without breaks.
