Udate and hello

Thu Oct 27, 2016 3:06 pm

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I stopped in. So I thought I'd see what all was going on. The summer has been fun and interesting. A trip to the doc last June scored me the first DRE in about 30 years. I asked him if that made us best friends...
Anyways he said I have BPH. SURPRISE!! (not). After all at the age of 62 it's kinda to be expected. What did surprise me was the size. He informed me that everything felt fine other than the size. Baseball size! I asked him if that's really bad and he replied that he's seen (felt?)bigger. He mentioned softball size. WOW! For me though, for an organ that's supposed to be the size of a walnut, baseball is humongous!

So now I know what's been causing the problems and why they've gotten gradually worse over the past 15 years. He put me on Flomax and wow! It should be called FireHose Max. I haven't peed like this since I was six.

While it has definitely helped, It hasn't eliminated my leakies. A diaper away from home and bed at night still makes a lot of sense. The worst thing is with the bph my stream was anemic to say the least. On Flomax it's like trying to hold back a dam. The "URGE" hits like a freight train and it takes everthing I've got and more to keep from wetting before I can get a handle on the situation. I've gotten a bit better at it since I get an uneasy feeling down there before the URGE hits. So I can brace myself for it. Unfortunately I still have those times where the URGE wins out (dribble squirt}. Not nearly as often, but still enough to be bothersome.

I know the next step would be the trip to the urologist and probably the ol' Turparoonie... I think I'm gonna fight that one till problem becomes more than incontinence though. Discussing it with my ol' gummer friends like myself, they have just too many stories of "TURP GONE BAD"...
And the whole "retrograde" firing thing just sounds a little creepy to me LOL.
Well, that's about it, take care, Ted

Hey Ted. Welcome to the life of urge incontinence. It's great isn't it..

Don't be too worried about ending up with a retrograde ejaculation. I'm forty, and have had it for over ten years now. Honestly though, it isn't something you really notice, as it still feels the same. The only bad thing is you might not be able to have kids any more.

The internet is your friend. Just do some searches and look it all up.

Urge Incontinence does suck. To stop nasty medication entering my body and the associated side effects of the same. I opted to manage my urge with diapers 24/7 this works for me. To be honest looking back after overcoming the initial discomfort of getting us to having a pad between my legs and psychological embarrassment I wish I had taken this option years ago could not be more happy now.

I did, those terms lead you to ZERO results. That is why I asked.

Retrograde ejaculation is when your ejaculated is directed into your bladder rather than out the urethra.

I have no idea about the other thing.

Sorry, a turp is a surgery. Trans Urethral Resection of the Prostrate, or something like that. It's where they remove an enlarged prostrate.

Retrograde refers to retrograde ejaculation. This is where your semen doesn't all come out, but instead can go into the bladder, and/or sit in the urethra which causes a drip afterwards. This is a possible side effect with pretty much any surgery in or around the urethra. Unless you're wanting kids it's pretty much a non issue though.
