Not looking forward to tomorrow..

Wed Oct 19, 2016 12:29 am

Well got a doctors appointment tomorrow. My blood sugar was only 86 two hours after eating a big meal with soda and a lot of coffee. Got it stable but to worried not to get it checked out. I am just glad that my mother insisted on checking it as I have only had my sugar tested a few time in my life and have no history with sugar issues. And yea the bed wetting issues are going to get brought up as well as they could be due to sugar issues from what I am told.

Yea so tomorrow is going to suck

I take care of an elderly, Catholic priest who has diabetes. Two hours after a meal, you would want your blood sugar to be less than 140 if you are not diabetic, and less than 180 if you are. A snapshot of 86 does not necessarily mean you are diabetic. It might not mean anything. Your doctor will want to perform a simple blood test to determine your mean blood sugar during the last 90 days. He will almost certainly also request additional bloodwork.

Incontinence can be caused by diabetic neuropathy, but from what you write here I very much doubt you have that. Best to schedule an appointment with a urologist in addition to your GP.

Well Got all the results back.. All the blood work was normal. I had a female nurse practitioner and she tried to avoid the bed wetting issue once I said how long I had been dealing with it she told me that I should look into getting an appointment with a regular doctor (there is normal one at this office).. At this point it had nothing to do with my Blood sugar alone but rather had to do with the fact that my body was not processing food at all. I have to stay off high carbs for a while and try to eat more protein. Big thing is that I had no issues with my blood as after a few hours my levels regulated but it took 3-4 times as long as it should have so the NP was worried that my body was not processing things right.. The blood test just tells the NP that there was nothing internal going on yet..
