space bags

Mon Oct 17, 2016 7:50 pm

To whoever invented these and recommended using them here for travel. Thank You. Going out of town for a week and my suitcase was filled with what I needed just with my supplies. Drag the space bags that haven't been used for sometime out of the closest and I instantly have space for my clothes and don't have to pay for an extra suitcase that would most likely come back almost empty.

The bags you stuff various items in such as clothes, blankets diapers, than close the top. Once closed take a vacuum cleaner to to adapter and suck all the air out. Word of caution as I found out with a little dampness on my underwear. There are pleats under the adapter and may cause some nicks in the diaper. Next time I am placing a piece of cardboard there to prevent that from happen. Not trying to advertise but to give you an idea, here is a link https://ziploc.com/en/products/closet-storage/space-bag/space-bag-large-dual-use?cid=SEM_G_space%20bags

Btw Glad to see you back Porkchop.

Thanks! I use those at home but never thought of them for traveling! And good to know, it never would have occurred to me to use them to store diapers.

No problem. Just make sure you will be able to re-vacuum those bags while you're on the cruise ship.

I once found out the hard way that your clothes won't all fit in your bag after you open all of those bags. Of course, if you're only competing for space because of your diapers, and you'll be removing those as the days go on, then you might still be ok without recompressing them.
