saw my urologist
"youre a complicated case. not much can be done for you. here try some drugs" ugh

You should not be treated like that. You need to find a different doctor.

justej,
I have been told the same thing, in almost those same words, many times, most recently by my new gastroenterologist. It is depressing, for sure. But it doesn't need to be lethal. I am proud of how well I manage. When by-standers look at me as though I'm drunk, I smile: if they only knew that I just soiled myself. They do not know half of what I need to do to get through each day, and I want it that way. Good luck, and tell us about your successes.

thanks patrick.
im proud that i navigated through the medical and insurance establishment and got my diapers covered. i stuck it out for a long time.
and im proud that i went from homeless, to a halfway house, to my own apartment, paid my rent steadily for 12 years and am clean and sober.
thanks i feel better

I would recommend you find a new urologist as well. I went through more than a dozen urologists over almost 20 years in my area until I finally found one that knew what he was doing, AND didn't push yet more meds on to me.
This doc is rare though, and it was extremely difficult to find him, but I never gave up believing one was out there.

With insurance issues, sometimes we can be limited in whom we can see, urologist wise. Just some food for thought.

Oh I know. Trust me. The only reason why I went to so many is because that is who my insurance company wanted me to see. I'm not able to pick them myself, but I was able to rule them out after a few months, until finally I got a competent urologist.

justej,
You have indeed succeeded where many of us would have failed. Kudos.
