hey everyone. the surgery went well. the bladder issues didnt just suddenly resolve like i was hoping that they just suddenly came on after my first surgery.
i had a couple of times where i made to the bathroom the first day or so and felt hopeful, but these last couple i get to the bathroom and have wet myself. i decided that the only logical choice was diapers. i had them and was prepared, but this little part of me was hoping i was cured

Glad to read that your surgery went well. Sometimes we fantasize being cured; however, for too many of us, reality soon sets in, and we must adjust to that reality. Good luck.

thanks patrick.
i tried to take a bath and almost got stuck in the bathtub. i couldnt get out! hahahah my surgery was on my left leg so i cant put any weight on it. after a few choice words i finally got myself out but wont be trying THAT again. ill stick with cleaning myself in the sink. not ideal but better than getting stuck in the bathtub!
i knew it was wishful thinking that my incontinence would go away after surgery. my first two days i was restricting fluids and running to the bathroom like crazy. not so easy when you have a messed up leg and knee scooter. and getting up/down and off the toilet was even worse. so i look at it as kind of a blessing. i wont have to deal with trying to not hurt myself going to the bathroom and wont have to deal with wet underwear on top of that. time to move on and heal.

Glad to hear you got your knee scooter. The first couple of weeks after surgery are tough regardless, but the scooter will make getting around so much easier in the long run.

good luck on your surgery porkchop!
ive been having some issues. yesterday i tried using underwear. 3 times i ended up with wet pants and a wet cast.
it was a really rough day. ive decided that underwear is not the solution for me anymore.
it was really hard and i cried.....a lot. i hate my incontinence. so much. i just want to be able to use the bathroom normally.

justej, I'm sorry you're having a rough day. Once you're fully healed from your surgery, you might want to talk to your doctor about options that might be available to you, such as pelvic sling surgery and pelvic floor physical therapy. Kegels can be helpful and they're not physically demanding, are very compatible with multitasking, and don't require specialized equipment/clothing. The downside, however, is that one must do a lot of them to see a result, and the results are temporary, so one needs to keep at it. Of course, medication is a last-resort option as well.
Porkchop, I hope your hand surgery went well, and I wish you a quick recovery.

hi wetters.
i have been through medications, tests, etc to no avail.
i have a recessed urethra and messed up bladder muscles.
when i did my test they couldnt get a catheter in me. not even a baby catheter. 3 nurses and my doctor all tried. it was extremely traumatic.
im seeing a new uroligist on wednesday (i get to go outside!) but im not very hopeful.
