Relaxed Fit Jeans

So I recently bought a pair of Relaxed fit Jeans. Why haven’t I got these before???

Quite an improvement in concealing my disposable diaper.

Currently I'm using a 40 x 30 jeans, and again, this works well with disposables.

Any thoughts on how much larger I’d need if I use cloth diapers and want concealment?

Concealing cloth diapers while out in the general public may be very tough, even the lighter levels of cloth diapers would be more noticeable then a disposable. My guess would be at least one size up in the waist, if not two, along with a belt! I wouldn'd dare try it with my build, it would be a dead give-away on that I had on under my jeans! Puffy

Relaxed fit jeans are pretty much a godsend. I bought a few pairs that were one size larger than my normal when I switched to wearing protection. Combined with a belt, they make concealment a breeze. I still worry about an obvious "diaper butt" though.

Hugh, at least one size larger, perhaps two depending on the cut of the jeans, the weight of the cloth diaper, how you fold it, and whether you add booster pads to it.

Also, what do you plan to wear to support the weight of the wet and sagging cloth diaper? It will be considerably heavier than your disposables. I use either a onesie or diaper suspenders. A onesie or diaper suspenders will keep the diaper closer to your body (which will reduce the visible bulge) and prevent waddling when you walk. Both of these will help your concealment.

Of course, any cloth diaper will require plastic pants sized to fit over cloth.

Yes, people may notice that you have a big butt. However, lots of people have big butts and we do not automatically think "diaper."

People who already know you are more likely to notice the difference in your profile.

One or two sizes up should do it. I do not really have experience with cloth though.

I can echo the relaxed fit jeans too. I've only ever bought them since starting to wear diapers all of the time.

Pleated front dress pants and kahkis also work really good to hide a diaper too (for when I'm at work or otherwise have to adhere to a dress code).

As for the cloth diapers, I'd say stick with the same type of pants but make sure they are large enough so they are not tight even with the cloth diaper on. It's only when the diaper is being compressed by your pants that it becomes truly obvious you're diapered.

Also throw on a long length shirt. Tuck it in, but then pull it up to loosen it. This will create a sort of crease/bulge from the shirt and just above your belt line, which will help hide any diaper bulge just below that.

If you can deal with a more informal look, bib overalls (Farmer Johns) do a good job of hiding that extra bulk.

I was looking at the diaper suspenders. The website shows the suspenders being used with a disposable diaper. If these were used with cloth diapers and plastic pants, would the suspenders attach to the diaper? I guess my thought is the clip would damage the plastic pants.
Has anybody tried the Hold-Up Suspenders with cloth diapers & Plastic Pants?

I’ve got some onesies, I’ll probably try that option first.

I’ll probably head back to the store and pick up a couple more pair, slightly larger in the waist, of the relaxed fit jeans

I’m not sure on the bib overalls, doesn’t seem to be me.

Hi Hugh,

I use diaper suspenders and have posted several times about them. You can search for "diaper suspenders" among the recent messages.

Diaper suspenders work great and I recommend them highly! The suspenders give more extra lift than your onesie probably provides. Also, in warm weather, they provide an alternative to wearing a onesie.

There are options to how you can use them. I usually use them with cloth diapers. You would not attach them directly to the cloth diapers because then the plastic pants could not completely cover them and prevent wicking. You could attach some suspenders directly to the plastic pants. Note that I use the suspenders with the plastic cam clamp, not the metal clamp. This works fairly well when attached to the waistband. However, it is good to leave some slack in the bottom of your plastic pants to catch pee and hold it until it is reabsorbed by the cloth diaper, particularly after press-out. If you attach your suspenders to the plastic pants and pull them up tight enough to support the diaper, you will eliminate this slack in the pants. Therefore I use a third option - I attach the suspenders to a pair of mesh Spandex underpants worn over the plastic pants. Spandex underpants work very well and stretch to fit the cloth diaper, but you could use any other type.

Generally, good old Levis 501's have served me well for many years. Good at concealing and holding along with NOT being to tight.

If sagging has been an issue, I found that past use of a stretchy latex (rubber) overpant has helped. Now, I'm inclined to use vinyl
bloomers for abundant coverage and NO wicking possible. Since jeans are often mainly cotton, a leak from wicking can be very
evident and I like to avoid that.
