wrong items

Tue Jan 05, 2016 11:42 pm

Well for some reason the doc prescribe a different of diaper. Now I have 8 packages of useless diapers, I would not even wish on my enemy. When I pulled the first one out of the bag, I was thinking you have got to be kidding me. Of course it leaked immediately and got my pants wet.

I have already contacted the doctors office explaining the dilemma, but it will be tomorrow before they can get back to me. I don't know where the disconnect was, just hope it gets fixed.

Batman,

Why is your doctor having to prescribe a diaper?

JD, The meds have never worked. Either they didn't help or the side affects where not worth it so diapers it is. I have tried guards and pull ups, but when my bladder decides it wants to act up it floods. So through the process of trail and error, I have found they work the best for what my bladder does.

I think JD was asking why you need a prescription, not why you are using diapers.

Most of us don't require a prescription for diapers, nor would it do us any good.

Are yours paid for by another party, requiring a script?

Never thought about the question that way. Since the VA service connected my incontinence, I am able to get them through them thank goodness.

That makes sense.

The unfortunate reason is that most anyone who does not need diapers thinks any kind of "absorbent garment" will work just as good as any other. I'm guessing you got a cloth-like pullup when you normally need a plastic back tabbed diaper. This too is an unfortunately common occurrence. Only by educating these people will we be able to keep getting something that works. Unfortunately, too many are simply afraid to speak up about it. Hence the situation we are in now.

Batman, they should be able to fix it... but the why is definitely confusing since the prescriptions for diapers didn't have an limited number of refills like a pill might.

Mike, it was an easy fix. I made the point of this was a different kind and looking at the difference in the numbers of what was ordered compared to the old order, they were close. I think the issue came when I requested the quantity to be increased and number of refills were up. The good news is thanks to this site, I got the idea to use the wrong type as a booster to the kind I normally get so they are not going to waste.

Smart, when I have ones I can't wear I donate them to Goodwill and hope they can put them to use.
