A recent news article has a paralyzed woman, who requires a catheter for her daily functioning, poses for racy photos to shine light on the disabled. I was surprised at how the article covered it, thought I would share it.

As somebody who lives with a catheter about 80% of the time, that is pretty interesting. I usually try to avoid calling attention to the fact that I'm wearing a leg bag on my calf. It's really embarrassing........I don't like answering questions about it when somebody notices. I usually wear a leg bag holder that looks like a knee brace, usually when I have shorts on in the dead of summer people will ask me what I did to my knee.....I just say "it's a long story" it's not obvious as a catheter bag unless one was to look very closely, or when it begins to bulge.

Yeah, I liked that she was so positive about herself and didn't seem to care what others thought. Her husbands reaction was great too!! I wonder if the reaction would've been as positive if she looked like Rosie O'Donnell instead?

I will just say one thing as a long term catherterized person.
A catheter is more sexy than a UTI.

I too am a long time Foley catheter user I been using one 24/7 for over five years and like most I keep the bag hidden as best I can.
I heard catheters called many different things but never sexy I guess it is how one looks at it.
