Hey all, I am not sure how many veterans are out there but I thought I would share some information with you all. If you don't know, many veterans with disabilities wives will qualify for the Care Giver Stipend now. You really should look into that! This program used to be for only post-911 veterans, but that was recently changed. I know that the stipend is a three tiered program, and tier one (the lowest level) in Hampton Roads, VA gets $425 a month. It is given to the spouse, separate from the VA rating. Basically they pay the significant other for what she does as your home nurse. It also covers therapy for the caregiver and respite care if it is needed. There are more services than that, but I am not aware of all of the available options since we don't use them. The application was also surprisingly easy and quick, though with all the newly qualified people that might change.

Thanks Porkchop. I don't think I would qualify though as long as I still have the use of my arms. I will have to keep that in mind for other Vets I talk to.

Couldn't hurt to try, and I can still use my arms too? It is the totality of your issues, not JUST the incontinence stuff. Memory, balance, mobility, daily living assistance etc.
