Hi I'm new here and just wondering if anyone can help throw any light on my recent experiences.
I'm 29 year old guy. I'm fit, healthy and active. For the last 6 months I have been having:
1. Dribbling, particularly after going to the bathroom but at other times as well. My underwear is damp pretty much all the time.
2. Occasional urgent need to go and have a pee - really need to rush.
3. I have wet the bed 3 or 4 times.
Any thoughts, ideas, explanations gratefully received.

Hello, UKguy, and welcome. I consider any involuntary urine loss - no matter how minor - to be incontinence. As to your urgency, do you have a sudden, overwhelming urge to pee and then barely make it to the toilet, or are you holding a full bladder for a while and then have an extreme need to void?
If you have a bedwetting history, you may be just stressing out about the daytime leakage and/or other things that have cropped up in your life, but I think it would be wise to see your primary care provider and also a urologist to rule out a medical concern or to catch a problem somewhat early on.
Again welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the Forum UKguy. A few here mentioned about the dribble issue, I also have that, and worth getting to the doc to make sure nothing serious is going on, along with the night wetting, which at 29 without a medical reason is rare, but not unheard of. Urgency seems to be different for everyone, some can hold it for what seems like forever, others 1-2 minutes, if that. Better safe then sorry, so talk to your doc!

Thanks folks.
I will make an appointment to see my GP. I wasn't sure whether it was really a medical issue or not, but it is affecting my life a bit so it's worth seeking a cure.

PS In answer to your points Wetters:
Urgency - Sometimes when my bladder is full I get very little notice and have a few minutes to find a bathroom. I have always managed to get there although there can be some small leaks/dribbles on the way
Bedwetting - no real history. I very occasionally wet the bed as a kid up till about the age of 11, but really not very often.

Hi, UKguy - I'm happy to hear that you're planning to have a medical appointment. Since you have a minor bedwetting history, you may just be stressing out over the daytime urgency/dribbling. Your wet nights certainly could end once your doctor addresses your concerns, so please discuss that with him/her as well.
My daytime urge incontinence is mostly like yours - a sudden, extreme urge to pee, but no time to get to the bathroom. I have an immediate gush instead. I wear protection 24/7, but I mitigate my daytime wetting accidents by taking bathroom breaks at intervals throughout the day before my bladder gets full. I've had daytime urge incontinence since my mid-20s, but it got much worse after my stroke almost 4 years ago.
I had a permanent bedwetting relapse at age 25 after 11 years of being dry. Like you, I had wetting episodes once every couple of months on average, but now I wake up wet during the night about 2/3 of the time - again, due to my stroke.
