Any Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Vets Here?

Mon Sep 01, 2014 8:57 am

I am curious if there are other SCI vets here like myself that go to the VA SCI Center once a year for their annual eval/checkup, and what they thought about it?

I live in Arizona, so I go to the SCI Center in San Diego usually for 7 days, and I didn't think the visits were worth the hassle. Just making the trip go to, and from causes me a LOT of pain for 3 days each way, and the benefit that I do receive at the SCI Center can be done here at the local VA so am I really missing something by not going? Maybe I'm missing the value of the benefit here, but its a lot of hassle with a lot of pain with little benefit so way do it?

Just curious what others think?

SCI, that would be me. I am a vet, and incontinent directly from an auto accident with some S5-L1 spinal bruising/shock I got during my time while still in the Marines.

Aaaah, good times. NOT.
