Diaper Bags

I was complaining to my wife the other day about to awkwardness of my duffle bag that I take when away from home that contains. diapers, disposable bags. powder. extra pins. plastic pants etc.

I had told her I was back on this list and she suggested I find out what other use for a "diaper bag" and how good it works. Wives always have great ideas! =)

I would like to find something that is of adequate size yet not to obvious. You would think that I would have this figured out better after so many years in the need. HA!

Would love to know what you folks do.

When I need to carry a bag, which is only on overnights, I carry a backpack.

I too have a backpack, in black. Works great and cant tell what I have in it.
I keep a small nylon bag that I have 3 diapers in it that I keep in my car.

I use a backpack for day usage and overnighters. My emergency kit, which is kept in the trunk of my car, is what I call a side-pack meant for carrying office papers, files, and iPad like devices.

Normally just a small backpack for a single overnight or a small wheeled carry-on for weekends as I also carry absorbent pads and enema gear.

I use a small nylon fanny pack if I feel that I need something to keep with me if I will be walking and away from the home and car for any length of time.

In the trunk of the car I keep a small duffle bag with my "disaster kit" - more diapers, cleanup supplies, and a complete change of clothes.

I lucked out and my wife found a back pack with several compartments on it. The very bottom of the bag has a zipper and it is just the right size for my diapers and because it is the entire bottom, the diapers stay flat and don't get bunched up. I'll put things like wipes and powder on the out side pockets because it no big deal if someone sees that. One of the best things about this set up is most people don't think to look here for a compartment so the leave it alone. I can't tell you how many amusement parks or other places with a security gate that "inspects bags that have missed this and never laid eyes on one of my diapers.
Is kind of scary though of how easy it would be to get something by them. If anyone would like, I can post the make and model of it and maybe a picture.

For the most part as I'm out and about and at work I use a cloth grocery store bag. I bring my lunch and everything I need for work in that too so that works. I also have a small workout bag that looks like a small duffel bag. That worked out great when we went away for a weekend. I was able to pack about 8 - 10 diapers in that no problem.

I also use a backpack that I leave in my truck and I have diapers/wipes/ socks, shirt etc.....
I still have a hangupmabout carrying this into places because my perception is that it is quite obvious....I am sure it's not.....I got caught coming out of the bathroom at a wedding with my "diaper bag" by a couple of super hot chicks.... I was mortified but it's unlikely that they knew what I was doing.....at least that's what I keep telling myself.....

I use a black/gray tote bag style diaper bag with a zipper on the top that carries 3 diapers, wipes, grocery bags to disposal, and some tape incase the tape on my diaper fails. I have a bigger diaper bag in the car that carries the same supplies, but with 6 diapers, and a spare change of clothes just incase I have a faulty diaper that leaks.

I remember over a year ago I went shopping at Sam's club, I brought in my small diaper/tote bag in with me and the woman greeter at the entrance of the store told me that I wasn't allowed to bring in bags into the store, I told her its just a tote bag, and I asked her if they allowed women to bring in their tote bag style purses and she said yes because that is different. So I felt she was being sexist at that point, and in order to let me pass and for her to shut up, I had to tell her it was a diaper bag, and that was embarrassing because there was a lot of people around because they were busy. I told her that if you have a problem with it, I'll gladly speak to the manager and since then I never shopped there again. Also since then that was the only incident where I ever had a problem bringing my diaper bag into the store.

Tom I'm sorry to hear of that episode. As someone in a customer service industry myself I would hate to have done that to someone. I have heard many horror stories.
