I am being worked up for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. So far, I have had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, blood tests, stool sample, and a CT scan of my abdomen. The problem is that I'm having some slight bowel leakage with urgency on some occasions. Its happened 6 or 7 times. Not fun. I don't get constipated, I just get alot of diarrhea. So I wanted to know, is this normal with IBS?

I am having the same "leaking" problem and my GI thought it might be Irritable bowel. I had the blood work, colonoscopy, etc. I did not have irritable bowel, so I can't help you out there. I then had an anal rectal manometry (sp?) Apparently, my sphincter muscles are very weak. I have other problems suggesting a neurological problem, so I am testing for that now.

I have to wear diapers already because of urge urinary incontinence. The IBS is just compounding things. I just have frequent loose stools. I don't get constipation so I'm not really worried about anything with suspender right now. I just wanted to know if its normal to have slight bowel incontinence with IBS. Sometimes, just like with the urge urine incon, I get a strong urge to go and can't hold back.
