We are working on a new rating system for our product reviews and we created new badges for the products, and would love your feedback!

we will sort our reviews products into three categories Moderate, Heavy and Nighttime, and then break them into recommended usable hours.

the usable hours are based on our testing results from both lab and testers data, and the average urine creation for average (well hydrated) adults in the time period (100ml per hour)

Moderate products will be products for light to moderate incontinence that can handle anything from light leakage and up 1 (or more) heavier void of 400ml at "reduced" flow rates.

Heavy incontinence products MUST be able to handle more than 1 heavy void of average 400ml at "normal" flow rates.

Nighttime products will be broken in up into Moderate and Heavy but must be able to absorb at least 800ml or 8hrs (100ml per hour) and not leak in "Lying down, Standing and Belly Sleeper tests, because of our "Side Sleeper" tests are hard for many/most products to pass we will not require them to pass the 400ml test.

what are your thoughts on the new proposed system?

Thank you!
Jason

I think you should have volunteers wear the diaper, do not us a static manikin. This would give a “real life” aspect in you testing. People that have to wear a diaper do not just stand still, they move.

Just my two cents.

Thank you for the feedback! We do use "Real Life" testing and guest testers for our reviews, We use the static "Stand-in(s)" as a scientific control it allows us to test the products with as little variables as possible focusing on the performance of the products when used as designed. Also using the "Stand-in(s)" allows us to better compare it against other products with the exact setup, Most incontinence products are tested using the Rothwell Method this method of testing the products is measuring the total absorption capacity of a pad by
immersing it in normal saline then draining it under gravity. We believe our system of testing is far more accurate to how a product is designed to be used than this standard test.

Another main reason we use the "Stand-in(s)" for the videos is it allows our videos to remain visible to as many people as possible as wearing underwear on YouTube will technically violate the YouTube Guidelines and our videos will not be searchable on the platform.

we are always looking at and improving the tests and methods but we are very confident in our results are as accurate as possible perfect? no.

Thank you!
Jason

I am fortunate that my IC usually subsides during warm weather. However, I have been having lengthy bouts of diarrhea lately, and I don't always make it to the loo in time. For that, I have resorted to paper underwear, which is much easier than laundry. However, these all fit me horribly, rub my thighs, and some extract fluff all over me and out my pant legs, even when dry. None of these are designed for people who are active, IMO. I would suggest you consider testing for those of us who are active.

I need more clarification as to what you are asking, I am not sure how we would test paper underwear that would show any significant results, if you are asking to do more test's in our current product reviews I would need to know what you are looking for, we test the products with active users our "Real world tester" and "guest testers" that we use for the reviews are active average people that use the product in their real life (work, play etc) and report back to us the findings, so we do get the standpoint of active people in our current reviews.

Thank you for the feedback!

I have often wondered about fit and how a diaper hides under clothes.

A series of photos of short video showing a person in underwear from the front/back/side. Then the model in the diaper, then clothed without diaper, then with. Finally clothed with the diaper at "time to change" point.

Might be too much trouble but it would give some excellent visual feedback.

Cheers!

I'm not so concerned about pullups, as few of us ever use them, and only for unique occasions. (see my post above for an example) My concern is more about having the perspective of active users who use diapers while out and about all that we can now that we are not chasing a bathroom every hour. All the real-world issues that come up- chafing, tape failure, leaks, all that sort of stuff.

Thank you for the clarification!

So items like tape failures and leaks do get covered in our reviews if we see consistent tape failures, issues like these usually show up in our "Guest Tester" and "Real world Tester Thoughts" for each product these people really do use the product out and about so any real issue will show up in the review! for example, the review for Unique Wellness® Superio™ our real-world tester found that the product had an issue of splitting down the center of the back when getting out of bed so they produced an image and we included that in our review. there are several reviews where we found tape/ fit etc issues and made sure to point them out you can find that information along the testers thoughts in our "What we think needs to improve" section of the reviews. items like chafing are usually very dependent on the person and activity so what may chaff you might not chaff someone else but if we find comfort, defects like pinholes or anything worth sharing in our testing I guarantee we will put it in the video!
