I want to post this separately so it doesn't get buried.

Sandy asked back aways if plastic pants with snug leg / waist bands would hold in diaper odor. That got answered already-no it won't.

What I want to address here is this snug fitting nonsense. Waterproof pants should not be tight. Doesn't matter if they are plastic, rubber, nylon or what ever. The elastics need / must be gentle on your skin. There is nothing worse than an elastic that "bites" into the skin. And beware that what can feel fine when you first put it on can get nasty as the day wears on.

Plastic pants made by Gary and offered lots of places under various private lables have, IMO, overly aggressive wasit elastics for any given size. I don't know if that is done on purpose so the plastic pants will help hold up a wet diaper? Again, IMO, that is absolutely wrong. A cloth diaper needs to be fastened such that it stays up by itself! The waterproof pants are nothing more than a waterproof barrier between the cloth diaper and the outer clothing.

Waist and leg elastics must be gentle so as not to harm the skin! I cannot over emphasize that!

Examples of gentle elastics are found on Babykins pants and Comco pants.

Gary pants can be "fixed". You need to order a "custom" pant with the waist elastic at least two sizes above your pants size. So if you wear a large plastic pant, the waist elastic should be that of an XXL plastic pant.

Hello,

I'm new to this group. I wanted to make a suggestion in regards to cloth
diapers. I have recently started using snap ez 4 life diapers and they are great. They are expencive but they are easy to put on and clean up great. They also have great customer service.

Sandy,
Sorry for being so long in getting back to you. I was on a vacation last week and had no internet available to check on post.
All the times I've ordered from LL Medicao, my plastic pants/diapers came to me via mail in about 5 days. I do know every thing I've ordered was a stock item.
Was your plastic panties ypu ordered a stock item? I know the lacy type you were buying was an unusual type. Not that they're unusual, but not many people(I think  ) order this type. I think you'll be happy with them. Their other types are basically always in stock.
They do have an e-mail address and you could contact them to check on it. They have always been helpfull to me. .........Paul

Hey Tony!
Thanks for posting on this site! It's good to hear from different members, and I notice this is your first post.
You mention the e-z 4 life cloth diapers. Where do you get these?
I don't mind paying a premium price for a cloth diaper as long as it's made to last. My diapers last me for a couple of years in washings. I think it's a waste of money buying cheap diapers, and they only last 4 or 6 months. Again, welcome to the forum! Feel free to post any comments or suggestions. ....................Paul

First off I would like to say a Big HI! to our new friend Tony. I've been off line for the last week due to my computer crashing. But it doesnt appear that I missed much. Good to have you back Paul. I missed not talking to you. I also missed you JoeK as well. But anyway I got my lacy/ruffle plastic panties I'm wearing them right now with a lacy top that somewhat matches. If my husband ever comes in from the shop maybe this will pay off  But then again he is usally so dead to the world he may not even notice :? The plastic panties fit well The elastic seems to fit as joeK had stated it should in another post. I'm wearing my night time set up an Abri Form super x plus and there is still plenty of room in my plastic panties. So I can't wait to get some cloth briefs to really try this out. I hate to admit it you guys but I do fell kind of sexy in these :P not to many years ago I WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN THOUGHT OF GOING HERE  I guess I just needed to loosen up. And you guys were a big help in that thanks!

P.S this is kind of fun

Thank you, Sandy, once again for your most upbeat contributions that show us that incon does not have to be dreary. Life is what we make of it! When life hands you lemons, make leomonade! And that line comes from TinyTony on the other, Yahoo board.

I'm delighted you are inticing your husband and having fun with lace plastic panties. I'd like to see you try colorful print plastic pants from BabyKins. The fit and quality of their plastic pants is super!

As for the Velcro on diaper experiment. Paul is well underway with the My lil miricle diaper and I just got my BabyKins diaper. It's gone thru one wear and launder cycle. I am happy to report I think it is as convenient to put on as a disposable. Pin on cloth diapers need you to lie down on the bed or the floor and that's not always convenient. The Velcro-on diaper can be held against a wall, just like a disposable and the front brought up between the legs. The back wings are then brought forward over the hips and instead of tapes, there are the Vecro tabs.

My first use of the diaper indicates it has a capacity about the same as a disposable-4 hours max safe wear time.

In a few weeks I should be able to report about how well the Velcro fastening stands up to the laundry.

Let me add my welcome to that of Paul and Sandy to our new contributor, Tony!

That diaper you mention is an AIO (All In One) just so folks realize that. And some may love them but many may not!

An AIO diaper is a whole different diaper from conventional cloth diapers with separate waterproof pants. Some feel there is an advantage to the built in waterproof covering, others may not like the stiffness that most seem to have.

The snap on feature may fit some better than others, snaps do OK for wearers that are not too active, IMO, but unless they fit you very well, you will have problems if you are an active person wearing a snap on diaper.

AIOs are much more convenient for institutional use (in those rare institutions that use cloth diapering rather than disposables) since managing one garment per resident is a whole lot easier than managing the right size cloth diaper AND the right size waterproof pants.

Let us know what you think of the laundering, Tony, as the AIOs tend to be slower to dry due to the waterproof covering and, tho it will take some time, we'd be interested in how they stand up to laundering over time. My experience, now dated, was AIOs did not last nearly as long with the rigors of laundering and plastic pants needed to be added at some point to maintain the waterproof protection.

My 2 cents on AIO diapers.

Sandy, I'm so excited you received your plastic panties. I think it's great that a husband and wife can play a little game with them. It makes being incontinent not such a pain.
I've never got my wife too excited about them. I'm glad she just accepts I prefer to wear a cloth diaper over a disposable. Some guys have a wife that will play games. But that's OK.
I can hardly wait to hear how you think of a cloth diaper under your plastic panties  feels. Joe K mentioned he received his velcro Lil Miracle diaper and has tried it once. I belive he's going to like it as much as I have. This diaper is one you ought to consider seriously, but remember, it'll take about 3 weeks to get them. Keep us up to date how these work for you, Sandy. ...................Paul

Hey Joe K,
Glad to hear you got this diaper. I've put mine through about a dozen washings so far. Working great! I'm careful how I pull the velcro back when I change, pulling on the tip of the velcro stripas to not loosen the stiching. These are great for daytime(which I have worn once and it did fine) but mainly I use them for night. I must add some baby diapers as doublers to make them last through the night. They easily handle the inserts, and I can add as many as I need. Last night I slept in one with 4 baby diapers as boosters. It did the trick with no leaks.
Another thing I like about them, Joe, is they stay tight around your waist. No sagging problem at all! I'm definantly going to order more and probably use this diaper all the time. By the way, How about our Sandy? I believe you and I have got her convinced :D on cloth diapers! ..........Paul
