Post subject:  Fixing a snagged diaper

Hi, I think all of us who use disposable diapers have had a few that had a small tear in the outer shell. Sometimes this happens from handling, storage or even an occasional manufacturing defect. I fixed one of these a couple of months ago with scotch tape and found that it worked really well. I know that many people keep a roll of packing tape handy fix a broken tape. I am sure that packing tape will also work. The packing tape works but if the tear is small scotch tape is much easier to apply.

Hope you all have a great holiday season.

In my backpack kit, I usually keep a small amount of non-industrial duct tape, such as “Duck” ™ brand tape. Duck tape is manufactured with a thinner cotton mesh backing. It is more than strong enough to reinforce a diaper’s tapes or to effect repairs but will be much easier to tear with the hands. More industrial duct tapes are made with a fiberglass backing and are very difficult to tear.

One way to keep a small amount of tape handy is to cut off a 6" section and then roll that around a small piece of dowelling or a section of pencil. That will store easily. :D
