This post might fall into the "Captain Obvious" category, but I thought I would mention it anyway, in case it helps others starting out.
Early in my start with briefs, I made the mistake of not pulling the front of the brief up high enough before taping. This results in two problems:
- The waist line is much lower, increasing the chance of leaks at the waist line
- For males, results in less SAP material at the front, up to the waist line
If the front is taped higher (almost to the belly button), then you have much more absorption available. Making this small adjustment allows me to get by with the TENA Ultra brief. I save 50% by avoiding a premium product. It won't work for everyone, but worth considering.
