Duct Tape Reinforcement

Sun Apr 19, 2020 10:05 am

I use duct tape to reinforce the second chance tabs on my briefs. I usually keep my roll at home, as it's a rather large roll, but I was wondering if anyone has spotted smaller rolls (similar in size to craft tape) that I could more fit into my small backpack of supplies. Or, if anyone has used any other various tapes that are a bit more compact but get the job done.

Thanks!

Just about any home improvement store like Lowe's or Home Depot will have all kinds of tape. Electrical tape might be what you want if you are looking for color, I've seen red, yellow, orange, green, blue and black. I would go to a pharmacy / drug store (first aid isle) and get a roll of the Johnson & Johnson waterproof tape. Works great.

I use 3M white duct tape with a straight razor blade slid under the end to make cutting and peeling the tape easy.

I would fold under 3-4 mm of the tape on one end. Then you don't need a razor blade.

I use clear hockey tape now so far its worked out better then duct tape , Its slightly stretchy so it helps to get a good snug fit.

When I rip a tape off of a wing I use white duct tape to repair it, but I don't use a full width piece. I'll pull off an eight inch piece and just tear it down the middle lengthwise. I fold one end over a little bit and then stick one of the pieces back onto the original roll ready for use. Of course I then add the other strip of tape to my diaper. Works well for a cloth or plastic backed diaper.

However if you are looking to have some with you ready to use, but have limited space, do what I do above but just roll the tape over itself into a small roll (with the folded over end out) and put it into your bag or pocket. It may take a little bit of work to get the little roll unrolled but it sure beats having to carry a big roll of tape around with you.
