I really don't notice it so much when I'm wet. Maybe its me, but it just does not feel much different.
In my opinion, the amount of absorbancy someone uses all depends on the amount of protection you need for the amount of loss you experience over a certain amount of time. For some, a plastic backed paper towel works fine, but for others,.... a long lasting sponge my be needed for extended wear.
I don't change every 2 hours in the day when I'm home. Instead, I change about every 6 hours in the day, and at night,.....not until the following morning. I like the protection of the extended wear diaper, but if I use a mid-level quality diaper,.... then I like to use it in combination with a booster pad. The desired absorbancy of the pad I use depends on the planned amount of time before my next change. The use of a small, or medium size (4 x15) pad provides me with all the protection I need,...but again, most the time I use an extended wear diaper without a booster pad.
