Well I purchased the large Abena booster pads from XP Medical and I told everyone that I would report on them once I had some time to evaluate them. First of all these are six inches wide and a full twenty-four inches long. they fit between the leak guards on the xtra plus diapers.

I have been wearing these with the Abena fixing pants over them. I must tell everyone that they really add to the amount of time between diaper changes. Yesterday I was on a job out in the country and I ended up working a twelve hour day just to finish up so I wouldn't have to drive all the way out there again today.

Well I can tell you these things really hold up. My diaper was soaked at the end of the day and I still had to drive a good ninety minutes home. I thought for sure by the time I got home that I would have not only wet pants but a wet truck seat as well. Much to my surprise, no leaks!

These booster pads are twenty bucks for fiftty of them but in my opinion well worth it. someone had commented earlier on these and said they had gotten diaper rash from using booster pads? I don't understand that one but take my advise and give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

I concur, JRB.

I almost always use Abena Normal (4" x 15") booster pads with Abena Super diapers because I believe that they give me better overflow leak protection. And I use the Maxi booster pads you tried with Abena X-Plus diapers when I must use disposables overnight.

For those times when I use an X-Plus during the day, I don't use a booster pad. It would be too much bulk (for me), and I just don't want to go that long between changes.

I also concur that there is no difference in the feeling of wetness or the danger of rashes when using Abena booster pads. The inner liner and absorption material appears to be no different than with the diapers.

Johnstone 2-shay! and I can't say that is a problem with me until I am really soaked like at the end of the day, but even then my diaper has not leaked. So if I have to put up with a wet feeling diaper over having a diaper that does not leak I'll take the wet feeling pants down LOL oops hands down

I really don't notice it so much when I'm wet. Maybe its me, but it just does not feel much different.

In my opinion, the amount of absorbancy someone uses all depends on the amount of protection you need for the amount of loss you experience over a certain amount of time. For some, a plastic backed paper towel works fine, but for others,.... a long lasting sponge my be needed for extended wear.

I don't change every 2 hours in the day when I'm home. Instead, I change about every 6 hours in the day, and at night,.....not until the following morning. I like the protection of the extended wear diaper, but if I use a mid-level quality diaper,.... then I like to use it in combination with a booster pad. The desired absorbancy of the pad I use depends on the planned amount of time before my next change. The use of a small, or medium size (4 x15) pad provides me with all the protection I need,...but again, most the time I use an extended wear diaper without a booster pad. :)

I like the Abena booster pads for thinner diapers like Attends. I have found that trying to use one inside something like an X-plus or a Bambino leads to leaks around the edges. The padding is too thick and the leg guards won't seal up right for me anymore. Plus, after 8-10 hours in a diaper I feel ready for a change anyways.

Again I will take a moment to extoll the merits of the Bambino diaper. I've been wearing them almost exclusively over the past few weeks and I find that much of the time I can get through a 24 hour period with just two of them. Yesterday was a perfect example. I left the house at 7AM for work... and had to meet my fiancee on the other side of town after work to pick up some of her art supplies... didn't get home until close to 8PM. I was pretty well soaked by the time I got off work at 6... but the Bambino held without a single leak until I got home.

Have you guys tried the full contour booster from tranquility In my opinion that's one of the best boosters out. It wicks good holds the wetness in even when your sitting and most of all you feel fairly dry as compared to most diapers/boosters :D ........................Sandy :)

No, unfortunately, i haven't. But, i have tried their mini boosters courtesy of medicaid.. i have a bunch of bags of them stacked that i almost never use. I do use them sometimes, because i noticed they are VERY good at keeping skin feeling dry. The dignity booster holds more though, so its a tossup. When i do need a booster i usually use dignity, but sometimes i put a tranquility on top. I'm sure that would last a good while if it had to. Still not up to full-time diaper usage just yet..can still make it to the toilet sometimes, so i attempt to do so. Still waiting to see if interstim can help things.. i dont know.. UGH..im coming down with sore throat.. NOT fun..usually when your sick, your control problems get that much worse cuz you dont feel like using the toilet when your sick..
