Post subject:  Reevaluating cloth diaper inventory

So, I am actually elminating all in ones from my inverntory for the simple fact that the type of diaper I chose seems to not dry quickly with my current dryer and the velcro scratches the skin. It was a huge loss since I invested so much money in those diapers, but most of the time they were sitting around and not being used. The velcro scratched my skin and it was only a matter of time until they were rendered unusable by the velcro wearing out. The aios with the PULS had gussents, but that made it problematinc for washing.. dryer balls got stuck in the gussets. Maybe one day I will reconsider those, but right now they are not the most practical. If I am going to spend time washing and drying cloth diapers and do extra dry cyvcles, I'd prefer it to be on a cloth diaper that makes my life way easier. I feel the Angel Fluff U3 are probably MUCH more absorbent than the Depedeco all in ones, and there are only two velcro closures per side and don't scratch. The U3 is custom built for your body shape so only one closure is necessary per side, Now, the U3s do lack a way to secure the velcro so it doest stick to diaeprs, but their velcro system Is MUCH sofer on the skin and doesnt scratch nearly as often.

Whether a diaper is comfotable when wet depends on multiple factors including hydration level, amount of the episode, amount of layers in the diaper itself. So it may be that I feel more comfortable in a u3 without a stay dry liner than I would in an Ecoable or Dependeco fitted when I was welll hydrated verses wearing ecoabe or dependeco with poor hydration. Synthetic fibeers seem to be more compliated with washing.. you can't wash them on too high heat or you will damage the buttons... etc.

Does anyone have a reliable wash routine with flannel diapers that they can share with me? Are flannel diapers cost effective if used as a primary inventory option with the extra drying routine?

Peace out!

Rob

My inventory are mostly ACD birdseye, with a few gauze which I use as fillers for added absorbency at night. For washing, I set my washer for hot water, extended time cycle, and I use Clorox with every load. One difficulty is that diaper pins tend to bend, making them unusable. Over these I use Gary waterproof pants. Good luck finding what works for you, and keep us informed.
